Chapter 1: Prologue
Gorden Freeman did not know what to do. He was stuck in a science facility far from anywhere during a resonance cascade. The zombies that came from the portal are killing most of the people. The only person he knew was alive was one his friends Barney. He decided that silence would be best for the time being. He opened the door to the other room to find a zombie head (or head crab) on the floor. He quickly used his last few pistol bullets to finish it off. He realized he was in the surveillance room. He look at a monitor and saw a creepy middle aged man in a suit with black hair staring back at him. Just staring at him gave him the chills. Gorden blinked and the mysterious man disappeared. Gorden did not know how his day could turn so wrong.
Chapter 2: Before the Cascade
Gorden woke up in his blow up mattress in a small 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house. He was lucky he only got a pay cut, unlike others who were laid off. Gorden works for a science company called Black Mesa. Their competeror is Aperture Science. Aperture has made tons of money on their handheld portal gun that can make portals for teleportation. Black Mesa has been working on portals to other dimensions. So far there has been no luck on their portals. He put on his lab coat and ate a breakfast of cereal on a fancy leather recliner. This was the only thing he kept from when there were no pay cuts. He soon after got in his car and went to his job. He got to the Black Mesa monorail that goes in circles around the facility. At least he will not have to drive another 100 miles to get to his job. He was there around 6am so he was ahead by three hours. He got on the monorail by himself and went on his way. The monorail itself was very large and clean with leather upolstry and lots of room. Here he would plan out how his day went. He pulled out a laptop out of his bag and used the free WiFi to check his emails. There was nothing more than yesterdays forwards. The classic cowboy ,mermaid, and priest walk into a bar. Gorden looks up and sees the sun rising to greet him with the warmest smile he would ever see. In about 30 minutes he was at Black Mesa or what some people call Black Failure. Garden walked through the automatic titanium doors that seemed like a fun killer. Inside the main lobby is an empty desk that onced had a secretary that was laid off. Knowing nobody was here yet made this small industrial lobby seem even more unsettling. He went to the elevator and set his floor number to -1277. This underground floor would be where his luck would shine.
