"Don't let go" Sirius cried, holding tight to Remus' hand as he dangled from the ledge of the second floor window of the Shrieking Shack.
Remus looked at Sirius with pain in his eyes. "It's for the best," he said softly. He was changing again, but this time it was permanent. He could not stand to live his life as that thing, that monster.
"No! I won't let you!" Sirius shouted, trying desperately to hold onto him.
"Forgive me." Remus whispered, letting go. "It was the only way"
Sirius fell to the ground, as Remus' words echoed through his mind.
