Waterplay
They say that life began with water play,
For in those waters birthed our kind.
Insignificant pond scum, sea urchin,
Without a single thought or mind.
It started in the sea, in water play,
Water play… life began to swim.
Stupid, gulping little fish a'swirling,
With no value, a god's whim
And from the sea, there will be a child born,
Crawling away from its warm womb,
The salt of the brine, like a mother's tears
Falling absently, foretelling gloom.
Father sent me forth toward humanity,
and from my father, my life drains.
Black waters that birthed me also claim me,
A lifetime of torment remains.
From the highest mound, spurts forward the stream
Their child is born, is that - the sea?
What does this story mean to me?
Flesh will rot damp or dry, as it should be.
A poem I wrote a while ago after reading the Ring Manga. It may contain some possible spoilers. It sort of links Sadako existence to human's beginnings in the sea. It sucks but was in my head.
