Aftermath.
The aftermath of the war with The First was somewhat chaotic. Some of the Slayers just wanted to go home, others wanted to go searching for demons to kill. Nobody knew what would happen next. Buffy decided to take everyone to Los Angeles and figure things out when they got there.
When they arrived in LA, she explained the idea she'd come up with to Giles, Willow, Xander and Faith. They could start a school. Since there was no way to reverse what Willow had unlocked, Buffy thought it would be best to start a school to teach young Slayers how to use their gifts to help mankind. Giles suggested adding a Watcher wing, which prompted Willow to mention a section for teaching young witches and warlocks too. In the end they decided to have all three. They found some land on the outskirts of LA and started building.
It took them five years to build the school. It would have taken longer but Willow enchanted the bricks. Partly because she was impatient to start teaching and partly because she believed the school would need protective enchantments and what could be more protective than to enchant the bricks as they were building? Ever since do the unlocking spell, Willow had become more powerful than ever. The difference now was that she had complete control of her magic.
When the school was ready to be operational, Willow created three spells. One, to alert them to new slayers; One, to locate potential Watchers and one to locate potential witches and warlocks.
They all agreed they should start as young as possible and made the starting age for the school five years old. Buffy and Faith would teach the Slayers, Giles and Dawn would teach the Watchers and Willow would teach the witches and warlocks. Xander became both the school handyman and also helped Giles to train the Watchers in combat.
Along with the spells to detect new students, Willow came up with a magical way for contacting them. She confided in Buffy that the famous Harry Potter novels had given her the idea. While the school was set up to receive normal mail, they also kept a parliament of owls in the topmost tower for international interaction.
When the school first opened they charged a small tuition of $1000 to cover combat practice equipment, potion ingredients and spell books. But as the school grew, the tuition amount shrunk each year.
They started to employ martial artists from all over the world to teach the Slayers and Watchers. They brought in a dozen expert chefs to cater for the school year. And every year picked some of the older students to monitor the dormitories, which of course were split; boys on one side of the school and girls on the other.
A memorial was set up in the Main Hall to remember those who had fallen in the war against the First. Xander could often be found staring wistfully at Anya's name.
For the first time in her life, Buffy felt like she was making a difference.
