Lucy took a deep breath as she finished unpacking the last box. She sat in her new apartment on Strawberry street in a town called Magnolia. For years she's waited for the moment to finally move out of her fathers house and at age 18 she did. Her apartment was beautiful, it had a kitchen a bathroom a living room and a nice sized bedroom with a nice soft bed. The apartment already had furniture so all she had to do was bring her clothes and toiletries.

She went to her room and flopped on her bed with a big sigh, the bed really was soft. Moving to a new town wasn't easy. But the townspeople seemed nice enough and the area looked interesting enough to make her excited to explore. In a few days she would start classes at Fairy tail college. Lucy was so happy when she was accepted to Fairy Tail college. It was a very prestigious college with its graduates going into big businesses or even owning their own companies. Her childhood friend Levy Mcgarden was attending that school and will be a sophomore when Lucy gets there. Levy told her all good things about it. She was the one who encouraged Lucy to apply.

It was comforting to know she already had a friend in college. College is a big place and starting alone can be hard.

Just then, Lucy's phone vibrated. It was a text from her father. She quickly tossed her phone on the opposite side of the bed ignoring his text. He was probably trying to tell her that what she was doing was a mistake. He's been saying that ever since she decided to move out a year ago. But no matter what he said she stuck to her decision.

Wanting to explore the town, Lucy got up, put her phone and wallet in her purse and grabbed her keys off her desk. She headed out and locked her door. It was a really nice day, the sun was bright and there was a slight breeze that smelled of fresh bread and flowers. She closed her eyes as she took a deep breath and smiled. This is nice, she thought to herself.

She strolled through the town of Magnolia with no true destination, admiring small shops and buying clothes and pretty jewelry. She stopped at a bakery and bought a delicious piece of freshly baked apple pie. She could smell it from blocks away and it was more than worth it. She stopped at a park with a huge tree and decided to take a rest. She was out for hours and the sun was beginning to set. The sunset from Magnolia was beautiful. It turned the sky a beautiful shade of pinkish orange. Lucy found a bench and sat. She took out her phone and checked her texts and social media, still ignoring her fathers text. She did receive a text from Levy who asked if she was safely. She smiled and replied. They texted for about 20 minutes about their day and how excited they were to be living so close to one another now and attending the same college. Levy ended the conversation by saying she had to attend a friends party.

Lucy sat in the park for a few more minutes before heading home. The sun was fully set but the town was lit by many colorful lights and seemed as lively as during the day. As she walked past an alleyway by her house she heard a weird noise. Oddly enough she felt like she was being watched also. And thats when she smelled it. It wasn't a horrid smell but a warm smell like burning pinewood. Then it all just suddenly vanished, the smell the noise and the weird being watched feeling. She shook her head as she continued walking. That was too weird.

Once home she took a long hot bath and watched a few movies on Netflix before falling asleep in her big soft bed. She didn't even notice the red eyes staring at her from her window.
