"Stroke of Luck"

I don't own them, so back off!
Rated T for themes. Nothing really bad in here.
Spoilers through Episode Three.
Sarah couldn't bring herself to trust.
Sarah liked the rift that had formed between John and Cameron after the girl's suicide.
Well, maybe not actually liked, per se, but she thoroughly appreciated it.
John needed to remember what Cameron was. Sarah knew she would never forget. Cameron was exactly the same as the Terminator that had hunted her, the one who'd murdered Kyle. You could dress Cameron up in a pretty skin, but nothing would ever change what she was inside. Sarah would never forget and she would never forgive.
So it was better that any bond John had been forming with his cyborg protector be broken before he got really attached. She'd watched her son suffer the last time he'd lost his guardian- his friend. She didn't want to see it happen again. John had to understand that Cameron was expendable. She was a tool they could use, nothing more. She wasn't human.
And Sarah couldn't bring herself to trust a Terminator again- especially not this one. Cameron kept secrets. Sarah could never tell when Cameron was being completely honest or not, and it bothered her. If she wasn't privy to all the information available to them, how was she supposed to protect her son? And why would Cameron hide things from them?
There were too many questions, too few answers. Until she knew the truth she would never be comfortable with having Cameron around.
And John… he'd been getting too comfortable with her. It was obvious. Sarah could already tell that her son was having a hard time thinking of this new and different Terminator as a deadly weapon- one that could cut them as easily as it destroyed anything else in its path. Sarah had to protect her son from the world and from Cameron. Both were dangerous.
She didn't know where to begin. She couldn't do it as she always had- by running and hiding. John was sick of it and, to tell the truth, so was she. It felt good to be taking action again. She felt alive again.
So they couldn't run and she couldn't get rid of John's guardian robot. All she could do was… a whole lot of nothing.
At least the rift helped. If John didn't trust Cameron, it made protecting him from her easier.
She felt like it was her first real break in a long time- a stroke of luck for a terminal loser.
