"Where did you get this sword?! Where?!" Bellatrix screeched. She let up on the curse to allow Hermione a chance to answer.

"We found it! We found it!" Hermione sobbed. Her sobbing quickly transformed into screams as the curse was renewed and all she felt was the burning, stabbing, excruciating pain of the cruciatus.

"You're lying! What else have you got?! Tell me the truth or, I swear, I shall run you through with this knife!" Bellatrix threatened and tauntingly waved the sharpened blade in front of Hermione's face.

Hermione lost track of time, the pain too great. She could hear the crazed witch continue to yell out her questions, but all Hermione said was, "We found it. We found it"

The pain faded and for a moment Hermione thought death had come for her and she rejoiced in the freedom it gave but instead of completely leaving her body the pain shifted. It focused on one small part of her arm. She had thought the pain before was bad but now, concentrated in one area, it was tent times worse. Her screams increased, and her throat was raw, but she couldn't hold back the sound of her pain.

"Hermione" a voice called out to her, but she was trapped in an endless cycle of pain and she couldn't tell who or where it was.

"Hermione" the voice called out again, more urgently this time, "Hermione"

She felt hands on her shoulders and she desperately tried to get away, but the hands held her still.

"Hermione!" the voice yelled, and Hermione woke with a shuddering gasp. Her fear filled eyes locked with her worried wife's and Hermione desperately tried to force air into her lungs.

Daphne woke to the horrifying high-pitched screams of her wife. It was not a pleasant way to wake up and luckily it didn't happen that often anymore.

She rolled over and began the process of waking her wife. She knew that she had to keep Hermione pinned down or she would fly off the bed and hurt herself. It took a little longer to wake her this time and Daphne started to panic when Hermione awoke but couldn't catch her breath.

Hermione took short gasps and couldn't calm herself down, so Daphne maneuvered them both into a different position in the hopes of helping her wife. She leant back against their headboard and pulled Hermione into her arms so that Hermione's back was pressed firmly against her chest.

Daphne wrapped one arm around Hermione's waist to keep her close and pressed her other hand to Hermione's chest.

"Come on, love. Deep breaths. Follow mine. Nice and slow. That's it" Daphne murmured into Hermione's ear. It took ten minutes for Hermione's breathing to slow and for her tears to stop. The whole time Daphne kept the strong hold on her wife and offered what comfort she could. Hermione's eyes drooped shut and her breathing evened out completely as she fell asleep once more.

Daphne pressed a kiss to her wife's sweaty temple but otherwise didn't more. She would keep watch tonight so that she would be there to help her wife fight off the shadows that lurked in her nightmares.
