"What am I seeing here?" said Gurdy's boss Rhett Fargo Fletcher as he watched the news coverage on his streaming news services.

"Tikio Reeve'' Hypertube crisis of course" Bunson replied, twiddling her fingers in hopes that explanation would suffice.

"No, what I'm seeing here is a lack of ambition" Rhett replied, watching as Thunderbird 1 took off and left a news-starved Gurdy in the lurch.

"I did ask him for a quick word" Gurdy replied.

"Yes, and what exactly did he do? He did'nt even give you a quick enough glance, he just hit the thrusters on that gigantic flying needle and took off with the passengers on that Hypertube, the only ones that could have given us more insight into what terrified them, what releived them, what the strategy was with their rescuers, all of that was thrown away by three words"

"What words?" said Gurdy.

"Another time...maybe" said Rhett, pounding his fist on the table.

"But, but I was just reacting to what I'd been given, a brush-off for now, but perhaps if I'm in the same vinicity as them I could try again"

"You gave up on the story, you could have had our observation drones take off after them and persisted, a little persistance ain't futile you know. Instead over six millilon people on our streaming services caught you uttering the three words nobody in this buisness ought to speak...words that convey nothing but wishful thinking and uncertainty. People who work in news are those who work daily to provide clarification, information, and to relieve people of their wishes and tells them what to expect from the future."

Gurdy frowned.

"I'm sorry Fletch, I won't let this happen again" she replied.

"See that you don't. One thing worse than fake news is no edge to the news at all"

Gurdy left the room with a sense of renewed purpose.

No.

No, not JUST purpose.

Persistance.
