Toan looked up at the open cave door and swallowed. He knew precisely what he needed to do, what needed to be done but…
But after all his years of planning his escape, his great adventures, Toan was scared. He turned around and looked at the empty ground where his village had stood. This place had been his home for so many years, it felt strange to be finally starting his adventures.
"The hardest step to take on any journey is the first." Toan's mother told him one day as he sat there planning his adventures with Paige when he was eight years old and full of the worldly wisdom of that age. Toan merely smiled.
"I'll be ready!" he exclaimed and his mother smiled.
"I'm sure you will. I'm sure you will." She told him
"Mum was right, the first step IS the hardest." He muttered to himself. Taking a deep breath, he put his right foot forward and took the first step into Divine Beast Cave and the first step on his adventure.
