"What d'you want me to say, B?"

"Just tell me, Faith. Do I mean anything to you?"

"How can you ask that? You know how I feel about you!"

"No I don't Faith, you never tell me!" Faith sighed and stood from her place on the end of Buffy's bed and walked towards the slayer slowly.

"Buffster, you know me. You know I don't talk about the emotional stuff. You know you're my number one girl." She placed a hand on Buffy's shoulder and gently squeezed it. Buffy shrugged Faith's hand off and stepped away.

"You talk to me like I'm a child Faith. Like I'm a temperamental child who's thrown a tantrum because you gave someone else the last cookie. I'm not asking if you care for me I'm asking if you love me." Faith growled in frustration.

"Good God Buffy. Which part of 'not the emotional stuff' do you not understand? Is it not enough I've sworn off every other body to be with you? Is it not enough I do everything I can to assure you you're the only one I share my bed with now? What more could you possibly want? You know you're the only one for me!"

"I'm the only one you'll fuck Faith. I could use Spike for that." Faith threw Buffy against the wall.

"You heartless bitch!" She flew at Buffy and smacked her cheek, tears streaming from her eyes. "You ask what you mean to me and then tell me I'm just someone to fuck? I'd die for you Buffy. I'd turn into a vampire to protect you, you...you..bitch." Faith moved away from Buffy and leant against the wall. "God, Buffy." She slid down the wall, trying to keep from sobbing. She rested her forehead in her hand. Buffy swallowed. She walked slowly towards Faith, trying to find the right words while remorse clouded her brain.

"Faith, I'm sorry I didn't mean that. It's just...you're not really one for talking or loving. You're all action and heat. I'm not used to that." Suddenly Faith shot up and pushed Buffy onto the bed. Before Buffy could react Faith was on top of her.

"You want talk B? Then listen. You're the one I want, in every way. I'm all action and heat because I can't get enough of you. You're like heroin, every time I get a hit it leaves me wanting more. There's your answer Buffy. You're my drug, my girl, my life." Faith's lips crushed Buffy's and then she drew back staring Buffy in the eyes. Buffy smiled.

"That's all I need Faith." She reached up and pulled Faith down with her, their argument forgotten.

Faith looked over at Buffy, still asleep on the bed. She picked up her bag to leave. She paused when her hand grasped the door knob, tears pricking her eyes. She looked at Buffy again. "You'll never know but I have to say, Elizabeth Summers, I love you." She left closing the door softly behind her.
