journal entry number 29.
I stared at my sister's picture. I slammed it down. I was so ticked at how she could have left us. Shego had always been the least enthusiastic of our team. I could hear my brothers romping around Go Tower. To ignore them, I turned on my radio. Big and Rich's new ballad began playing at that moment.
"Holy Water"
Somewhere there's a stolen halo
I use to watch her wear it well
Everything would shine wherever she would go
But looking at her now you'd never tell
I recalled my sister growing up. She'd always been a pretty good girl, despite the impulse to beat people to pulp. Her sarcastic taunts really brought out the real us, the better us somehow.
Someone ran away with her innocence
A memory she can't get out of her head
I can only imagine what she's feeling
When she's praying
Kneeling at the edge of her bed
That's what it seemed like to me. This guy just kinda came to Go Tower one night and Shego was no longer the hero she had once been. Her innocent pure way of looking at things had vanished and been replaced by corrupt, evil thoughts, words, and actions.
And she says take me away
And take me farther
Surround me now
And hold, hold, hold me like holy water
Holy water
She wants someone to call her angel
Someone to put the light back in her eyes
She's looking through the faces
The unfamiliar places
She needs someone to hear her when she cries
I know my sister better than any one. I'm sure this is exactly how she feels. I'm positive.
And she says take me away
And take me farther
Surround me now
And hold, hold, hold me like holy water
Holy water
She just needs a little help
To wash away the pain she's felt
She wants to feel the healing hands
Of someone who understands
That's why I'm so intent on getting her back. We're the only ones in this unforgiving world who care about her. That Drakken guy doesn't care nearly as much as we do.
And she says take me away
And take me farther
Surround me now
And hold, hold, hold me
And she says take me away
And take me farther
Surround me now
And hold, hold, hold me like holy water
Holy water
I turned off the radio in anger, this song roused my feelings. It had been years since I'd heard from my sister. I needed to get over my thoughts about her.
Shego read thejournal and nearly cried. Who knew Mego cared so much? He'd always seemed like a jerk. She heard a noise. Mego entered the room.
"Shego, get lost! You quit Team Go ages ago!" he snapped.
Shego smiled.
"I had forgotten something," she said.
"In my room?" he asked doubtfully.
"I'll leave you alone now," Shego said calmly as she left.
Mego stared at his desk. His journal had been moved slightly to the left.
"Shego!" he screamed down the hall.
His only response was his sister's laughter.
