I love pointing out how "opposites attract" but it just all angst in the end because they are too fundamentally different to be together. That or I'm just a sadistic angst lover. Either works fine. I really hope to see more of this pair in future movies, but it's unlikely since Loki was defeated. And gagged. How can I ever forget that image.
Reviews are always loved.
THE BOND OF MADNESS
Their bond was deep. A bond that ran through one another's veins. But a bond deeper than blood and memories. Its very essence engraved into their hearts. Its nature birthed from their very souls. And from their personalities did it spread. A wildfire, an unstoppable force of what would always be Loki and Thor.
This was the power that caused realms to be destroyed when both were pitted against the other. However mad, the two were more powerful together. Growing up beside each other, they would forever be tuned at the same frequency.
THE BALANCE.
They were opposites, yet halves of a whole. Loki was the ying to Thor's yang. One fit where the other was lacking. Both understood and embraced the other's faults. They evened each other out. Perfect opposites. But opposites were not created to live in harmony.
Loki was the personification of chaos itself. Lies, destruction, mischief, and evil. They ran parallel to his angry lust for power and vengeance.
Thor wields the hammer, the simplest tool since the birth of life. It was the symbol of creation.
As Loki's very being ached for destruction, Thor's would forever itch to build. Against Loki, he would repair. Forever attempting to repair Loki's broken soul. Always begging for the old Loki to return to his arms.
THE CYCLE OF DESTRUCTION AND REBUILDING.
For Loki to start and for Thor to end. In whirlpools did they go. Loki would run forever, chaos driving him on. And Thor is destined to chase, in a senseless need for the only one that would understand him in ways he himself couldn't begin to.
Thor could plead and beg for all of eternity, but both understood the balance. Besides that, Loki had gone too far for any forgiveness. The only one who didn't want his head on a silver plater would be Thor.
THE ROLES ARE SWITCHED.
It was Loki's turn to court violence and bloodshed, much like what Thor did before his banishment. And while Loki used to be Thor's voice of reason when he got too angry to listen to others. Thor would, from now on until the end, try to voice reason back into Loki.
MAYBE LOKI DID HAVE A PURPOSE.
Before the seed of true evilness was plant in Loki's heart, he existed in Thor's shadow. For millenniums, he accepted being there, letting Thor have the spotlight. Loki almost enjoyed being lost in Thor's shadow if it meant that he could be close to him.
Their fate began entwined, glued at the hip, but Thor was destined for greatness. He was to be King. And before he was coronated, their destinies had long began to crossed increasingly less.
Loki had left the shadows only in attempt to gain Thor's attention as always. The only response Loki ever wanted from his tricks were from Thor.
It was painfully easy for Loki to nudge their futures in opposite directions. If fate had it that Loki couldn't be by Thor's side anymore, then he shall make it so that their fate would be entwined again. Although this time Loki wouldn't be fighting along side Thor but against him. At least he would have a part in Thor's life again.
Closeness wasn't something he deserved now. And to return to Thor's shadow was impossible.
MAYBE IT ALL BEGAN AND ENDED WITH THOR.
For Loki's sanity teetered close to the edge, his actions showing little reason. But Thor knew otherwise, he understood Loki in ways no one will.
It was all his fault. Loki needed his love. Loki needed Thor.
And Thor came to realize that he too needed Loki. But it was much too late now.
"So be it" Thor continues his chase.
