Tony wasn't one to wake up in the middle of the night and be hungry. But apparently his body has other plans. He woke up around three in the morning, his stomach rumbling so loud he was afraid he might wake Pepper. He got up slowly, mostly so he wouldn't make any sounds or sudden movements. As his bare feet hit the freezing cold hardwood floor he contemplated just going back to bed but decided against it. He didn't want the struggle of going back to sleep with an empty stomach.
As he walked to the kitchen he asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. to turn the temperature in the house to a comfortable warmth. "Of course sir." she responded when he finally arrived at his destination, the kitchen. He immediately started to rummage through the cupboards. Once he searched high and low and found nothing that would satisfy him he went to the fridge. He once again rummaged through the fridge and finally landed on something he would eat. Blueberries.
He grabbed a bowl from the nearby cupboard then put a handful of blueberries in it. As he put the rest of them back to where he got them from, he heard a crunching sound coming from behind him. He immediately called for his arm gauntlet figuring that it had to be some intruder. How they got in past his high security system he had no clue. He fired up his repulser and aimed at the sound.
"Woah! Mr. Stark it's me! It's me!" came a pubescent boy voice. Tony was surprised to see Peter hanging from the ceiling, upside down, a box of cheerios resting on his chest as he would eat from it. Tony quickly turned of his repulser and ordered it to go back to the lab. He turned back to the situation at hand. "What the heck Peter! What are you doing up at this time?" Peter started to look quilty. " Sorry . I got hungary."
"Don't we all." Tony said sarcastically as he grabbed his bowl of blueberries and started to eat them. " You can get down now. The floor isn't lava." Peter slowly got down from the ceiling, landing on the counter. He sat cross legged and continued to eat his cheerios. " Do you usually eat upside down?" Tony asked as he popped blueberry into his mouth. " No. It's just I wasn't expecting someone to be up this early. I heard you coming and thought it was a bad guy so I kinda just reacted on instincts. And jumped onto the ceiling." Peter explained feeling a little embarrassed. " Just for future reference kid this is the safest place to be." Peter nodded.
Tony put his empty bowl in the sink then started to leave when Peter called out his name.
"Yeah kid?" He turned around to face him. " I'm sorry for scaring you. I didn't mean-" Tony sut him off. "It's fine. Just enjoy your cereal." Tony said as he walked back to his room where he hoped to stay the rest of the night.
