Hey, I've decided to write Rose and Lissa's talk at the end of Shadow Kiss, except a little longer and in my version. So, enjoy!

Declaimer: Own none of this. Well maybe some of the lines. But you know, nothing else.

"Hey" I said to Lissa when I saw her by the gate.

"Hey" she said back. Her coat was on, but she was still a bit chill so she wrapped her arms around herself. "Why are you doing this, Rose?" She finally asked.

"Because I have to" I answered easily.

"No you don't!" Her voice was getting louder now. "Don't you understand? You don't have to do anything. Dimitri's gone! Forever! He's dead." That pain in my chest that I've been having since I was told came back. Lissa was just ripping up the hole again.

"No he's not! He's not Liss! He's Strigoi!" Anger ran thickly through my voice. "I have to kill him."

Why though? Why do you have to kill him?" I could see the tears forming in her eyes, now. She just didn't understand. She didn't understand that I loved Dimitri.

"Because I have to!" I yelled.

"No you don't!" We were both yelling, now. "You don't have to do anything for him! All he was, was your mentor! Nothing else. He was practically nothing to you" Lissa shrieked at me. Tears were running down her face, staining her pale cheeks.

"He wasn't just my mentor, Lissa! He was so much more than that!" I yelled at her, trying, unsuccessfully, to stay calm.

"What was he to you, huh? Why is he so much more important than me? Huh???"

"I can't tell you! I can't tell anyone!" I yelled at her, tears forming in my eyes, too.

"Then tell me why you have to go and leave me. Tell my why you have to quit being my guardian, or future guardian Why can't you forget about Dimitri? Or why can't you at least tell me why you can't wait until you graduate, then I when you come back- if you come back- or can be my guardian?" Lissa said, her voice lowering a little bit each time.

"Because I promised. I promised I'd kill Dimitri if he ever went Strigoi. I promised him, Liss."

"You promised me, too! You promised me you'd be my guardian! Who's promise are you going to keep? Because you can't keep both!"

"Why? Why can't I keep both promises, Lissa? Because you don't want me to? Because you want me to always put you first? It that why you don't what my to go? Because all about you?" Acid dripped from my voice.

"Yes! No!" she was getting confused now, "That's just how it's supposed to be! I'm supposed to come before your selfish wants!" Lissa was yelling again. She was just being plain bitch now.

"Well I'm changing the rules! This time I'm putting myself first! I'm going against everything I've ever known, I know. But I don't care anymore! There's no reason for my too!"

"What about me?" she asked in a small voice. "I'm not worth staying? I'm not worth caring for?"

"Of course you are, and I'll come back! But I have to get this done first!"

"I won't let you." Lissa said plainly.

"What you mean you won't let me? It's not up to you!"

"But I'm supposed to come first! I'm supposed to be the one you care about, and protect! Not him! You're supposed to stay with me."

"Listen to yourself, Liss! You're acting like a bitch! A self-centered, pig-headed bitch!" I didn't mean to say it, but I was sort- of happy I did. Lissa gasped and looked at me with wide eyes. She looked like she wanted to slap me so bad, but she knew better.

"Don't you ever say that again Rosemarie! You cannot say that to me! Just leave. Leave now." She said to me, and I smirked.

"Fine, you're Highness. " I said to her and walked away.

I set off; off to kill the man I loved.

I hoped you enjoyed it! I just love that last line; I just had to use it! Review. Criticize. Whatever floats your boat.
