The Seer and the Seen

A/N: I obviously don't own Twilight. This is my first story, so please review.

Jasper. I sighed. I watched his honey colored hair sparkle in the sunlight. I watched his eyes stare; intense on the hunt. The deer's tail flickered annoyingly. Then a rush of information slammed into me.

A faint breeze of wind. A mouth opening. Eyes widening in fear. Jumping. Teeth flashing. Teeth making contact. Teeth sinking in. A cool red haze. Burning subdued, but not quenched.

I sighed as I snapped out of this vision to watch it unfold before me. As soon as Jasper started running, I did as well. We jumped at the same time. Our teeth sunk in at the same time. The burning fire was subdued at the same time.

Perfectly synchronized partners as Carlisle once put it, after watching us hunt together. Graceful and deadly. Soul mates. He covered in battle scars and me with my odd visions. We truly were freaks among freaks.

When we had finished our meal, I stood. Without words, we slowly walked back to our house. No need to rush. High school started in two days, and Jasper would be playing a year older, which meant we would only see each other at lunch. Even though Edward would be in my class, the day would be long and tedious without Jasper. I wanted to savor this alone time.

He put his arm around me as we walked. Sensing my thoughts he said,

"We'll still have all night together." He grinned sheepishly. I rolled my eyes at him then sighed. I wanted more. All night wasn't enough. Forever wasn't enough. He could hold me as tight as possible and I would want to be held tighter. I would still want more. I looked down at our shadows.

One short, petite, fragile; one tall and strong. The pixie and the general. The visionary and the planner. The seer and the seen. We completed each other. We were made for each other. Forever. And forever will be enough for right now.
