Selene awoke to the high pitched screams of her twelve-year-old daughter, it had been a little less than a year after escaping from Antigen and the small group had learned to live in peace among humans, and as new members of the coven. The vampiress walked down the hall to her daughters room and took in her surroundings, in the bed she saw Eve shaking uncontrollably and sobbing, Selene sat next to her daughter and rubbed her back gently.
"Shh, it's alright, what's happened?" The vampiress asked the girl, Eve looked up, her dark blue eyes boring into her mothers brown ones.
"I h-had a n-nightmare! It was h-horrible, mother". The young hybrid cried.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked, Eve nodded.
"I had a dream that I got kidnapped again, and that you and daddy didn't care one bit, and they k-killed me, and then k-killed you". The girl sobbed, Selene hugged her daughter and consoled her.
"It's alright, your father and I love you more than you could ever imagine". The vampiress said, she kissed her daughter on the forehead and got up to leave.
"Wait mother, can you sing to me?" Eve asked, Selene sighed and sat back down, with a nod from Eve, she began to sing.
"I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I'll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight...
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now

Selene stopped singing and looked back to her daughter, who was now already sound asleep, she turned to get up and saw Michael standing there.
"Hey, why did she wake up this time?" He asked his mate.
"Nightmare, in it she was kidnapped again and we didn't care about her, so they killed her and then killed us, i'm really concerned about her Michael". The vampiress said, Michael sighed.
"We'll talk about it tomorrow, right now it's late so we should get some sleep". Michael said, Selene got up and followed him out,giving her sleeping twelve-year-old one last look.
"Sweet dreams, your father and I will protect you". She said, and returned to her bedroom.
