Chapter 1: The Mighty Ship
*Edited*
I edited this fiction in thought that it may become better. I hope you'd read it yet again. I put all my effort in making this better than before. For those who had the opportunity to read the original one, I want to thank you for leaving reviews that made me realize that this fiction may become better and I ask for your forgiveness for my immaturity.
I added more information and ideas in this fiction so some of the end results may have shifted a bit from the original.
A Moment of Fear and Pain
Chapter 1:
The Mighty Ship
Tsunayoshi Sawada was one of those fortunate—or unfortunate (in his mind and heart)—people to board on the mighty ship, Titanic, on its maiden voyage. He's not rich but since his brother, Giotto, is a part of the crew, he was forced to board even if he doesn't want to. Giotto forced him 'coz the older of the Sawada brothers didn't want to leave his only brother behind in their humble home. He was too afraid of losing the grumpy brunet.
Tsuna is a 16-year old boy with brown hair while his brother is a 25-year old boy with blonde hair. They share the same eye color, caramel. Giotto has a huge built though. Not as huge as other men but he is capable of doing hard works. Tsuna, on the other hand, is quite small for his age though he also has his own strength.
"Hey, brother, why do I even need to come with you anyway? I could have just stayed behind and work." Tsuna asked as they boarded. His eyebrows were twitching in annoyance for his brother. He never wanted to be here anyway. He hates the fact that this ship just got the world's attention just because of its mere vastness. What's so great about being BIG anyway? He thought to himself.
"Don't you want to board this mighty ship? Only a few people like us can board this!" Giotto asked in his usual happy tone.
"Who would want to board on this big of a ship? It's scary. It might hit an iceberg in the middle of the night and then sink two or three hours later in the middle of Atlantic or something. And besides, almost everyone in this ship is like us, bro! Like every crew here is poor just like us!" the smaller teen said as he lifted his baggage over the top of the double-decked bed, giving it the slightest effort he could muster. "And if this ship ever sinks—I pray to all gods that it won't—our blood line won't have any offspring anymore! Can you imagine the world without a single Sawada roaming around? It would be boring."
Giotto laughed. "Your imagination is way over the mind can take, Tsuna." he said as he ruffled the brown hair of his younger brother. "You don't have to worry. This ship is designed to be unsinkable!"
Tsuna raised an eyebrow. "You told me to be imaginative, Brother." he said. "And this ship IS sinkable. Every ship is!"
"Yes, I did tell you to be imaginative because I could never buy you a book to read or something but I never thought that your imagination will be that wonderful AND scary." Giotto felt himself shiver as he imagined what his brother just told a minute ago. He made a sign of a cross and silently prayed.
Tsuna just shrugged it off. He climbed up to the top of the bed and lay down. He folded his arms behind his head and made it as his pillow. He was about to close his eyes and sleep when his brother spoke again.
"Hey, Tsuna." Giotto called.
"Hmm…?" Tsuna looked at his brother.
"Remember that whatever happens, I'll always be here for you, okay?" he said with his usual grin.
Tsuna smiled for the first time that day. "I know that, brother. Thank you."
"You're very much welcome." he started for the door.
"Bro…" Tsuna called his brother.
"Yes?"
"Promise me that after this trip you'll just work in the bakery like we always did and you'll find a wife who'll bear with you for the rest of your life. Then have children so I'll have nieces and nephews to throw around when I get pissed." he said with a slight hint of joke.
"Why?" Giotto looked at his brother confusedly.
"I really have a bad feeling about you working in this kind of ship and besides, you're already old. You need a wife and a real family, you know."
Giotto smiled. "I promise. But for now, you ARE my family." he said finally then left.
"Tsk. Over dramatic." one of their roommates said.
Tsuna looked at them with a raised eyebrow. There is a long, silver-haired boy just his age and a black-haired boy with a cheeky smile just his age too.
"Hello!" the black-haired boy waved at him. "I'm Takeshi Yamamoto and this is my friend, Squallo."
"Hi!" Tsuna beamed at the black-haired boy. "I'm Tsunayoshi Sawada and the guy I am with is my brother, Giotto Sawada. He's a crew here. Are you a part of the crew too?"
"It's very nice to meet you, Tsunayoshi and yes, we're a part of the crew." Takeshi said.
"Tsuna. Just call me Tsuna." Tsuna said as he sat up. "It's nice to meet you too, Takeshi, Squallo. I'm not part of the crew though."
"Tsk." Squallo snapped as he lay down on his own bed.
Takeshi just laughed it off. "Sorry for that, Tsuna."
Tsuna simply shrugged it off as he lay down on his bed and slept.
