"So, guys, you all coming over to my place on Saturday?" Cory asked everyone, referring to the pool party he had decided upon having.

Everyone nodded yes and after saying goodbye and promising to be there on time, they all climbed into their cars and drove away from set. Darren and Chris got into Chris' car, and Chris started to drive. They had started to share a car ever since they started dating, which was a few months ago.

"What are you going to wear on Saturday?" Darren asked Chris, resting a hand over his where it rested on the gearstick.

"I dunno, just a swimsuit, probably," replied Chris.

Darren grinned and said, "I'm looking forward to that."

Chris rolled his eyes good-naturedly and then turned his attention back to the road. The rest of the car drive passed in a comfortable silence, broken only by the sound of Darren humming what sounded like Teenage Dream softly to himself. Once home, at the apartment they shared, they decided to order out, seeing as they were both far too tired to cook or prepare anything else, and after eating, they went to bed.

The warm summer sun rose slowly over the horizon, peeking in through the slits in the curtains and bathing Darren and Chris' bedroom in a soft light. Darren yawned and stretched his arms and then opened his eyes, squinting against the light. He turned to Chris who was still asleep beside him and whispered, "Hey, Chris, wake up."

When he didn't, Darren ran a hand through Chris' hair, softly massaging his scalp and whispering in his ear for him to wake up, as they had to get ready to drive over to Cory's, and Darren knew how long they would both take to get dressed and ready. Chris finally woke up, groaning and burying his face in Darren's neck and mumbling, "I don't want to get up yet."

"Neither do I, Chris, but we need to-" Chris cut him off by pressing his lips to Darren's and then pulling away and saying, "Fine. Just two more minutes."

Fifteen minutes later, they were still curled up together, and then, at long last, they got out of bed and decided to get ready. After eating breakfast and putting on their clothes, Chris combed Darren's hair and then they left the house. When they reached Cory's, they went straight to the backyard where they took off their extra layers so that they were left in just their swimsuits and ignoring the water, they decided to curl up on the deckchairs by the pool.

"Oh, come on guys, get in the water," Mark said, coming over to them. They refused and so, with the help of Cory and Harry, he pushed them in.

An hour later, Darren went inside, saying he had something to do, and told Chris not to follow him as it was a surprise. He came back twenty minutes afterwards with a tub of something pink and Chris looked at him questioningly. They sat down together on the deckchairs and Darren revealed the surprise to be a tub of heart-shaped watermelon pieces.

"Oh, Darren, did you cut these yourself?"

Darren nodded and then, with a fork, started to feed the watermelon to Chris, oblivious to the smiles and looks from their friends. "You guys are too cute," Lea shouted from across the garden, and Darren and Chris rolled their eyes simultaneously.

They sat there for a few more hours on the chairs, drying off from the pool, feeding each other watermelon hearts and basking under the warm summer sun.
