DISCLAIMER= I don't own Zack (though I wish I did!) or Cloud. They belong to Squeenix (damn you!!!!) I don't make any profit from this!!
Zack was the kind of person that made your worries melt away. His smile was so genuine that it was infectious. The way his violet eyes would glint in the light and how his raven hair would catch the sun. Even when Cloud had known Zack for a few hours, and still felt a weight had been removed from his shoulders.
It was heart wrenching when Cloud watched those eyes go dull.
Whenever Cloud saw someone with unruly black hair, his heart would speed up and his world would stop; only to start up again when he saw their face. It wasn't Zack.
He had taken Zack's memories… He knew what his best friend had been through… Cloud wished that he would come back. Cloud needed him to come back! When he went to sleep, he would see the man in front of him like that day they met. But Zack never spoke in those dreams he welcomed. Cloud never heard the voice that brought him hope and strength.
"Cloud, you're crying again. Cheer up, spiky! I'm right here…" Bright blue eyes widened. Was that..? Looking urgently around the dull room, Cloud saw no one. He sighed, only just noticing the salty tracks of tears falling down his pale cheeks.
"I just… miss you…" Cloud put his head in his hands, fingers gripping his blonde spikes roughly. A warm sensation filled the air around him.
"I'm not gonna leave ya, just believe in me." That ethereal voice… It filled his mind. This wasn't a dream. Cloud knew he was awake! But… Zack was dead! Even as he felt strong, warm arms embrace him, he couldn't dispel the image of that scene.. The rain… "Cloud, you've lost weight…" He smiled lightly, Zack always checked on his health…
"Z..Zack?" He looked up. Surely enough, he could see those eyes he had missed. His breath caught in his throat. "Zack… Zack…" He let his tears fall.
After what felt like hours, the warmth receded.
"I'll be back soon, Cloud. Don't give up." The voice faded. Cloud sat up in his bed, a feeling of hope he hadn't felt for years consuming him. Laying back, he felt his eyelids droop. He hadn't slept for a few days, his tierdness was creeping up on him. But Zack's words kept returning to him...
Don't give up.
Zack understood, Zack knew what he was thinking. He had been watching, helping him in his battles.
He felt forgiven.
I WULLFES ZACK! XD But that was just something that popped into my head a moment ago....
