Thanksgiving Morning

Jim Halpert woke up on the morning of Thanksgiving. The morning light peppered in through the white lace curtains that hung open on Pam's bedroom window. Outside, the orange and yellow leaves that seemed to be trademark of autumn slowly dropped to the ground.

Jim was cozily snuggled up to Pam. He smiled; he loved her. Jim decided that if it was indeed possible for him love anything more than Pam herself, it would be their relationship, the fact that he could now show her how much he loved her. Jim's smile grew.

Next to him, Pam stirred drowsily. She stretched out, like a cat, and murmured sleepily, "What time is it?"

Jim chuckled; he loved sleepy Pam. "9:30," He said to her in reply after a swift glace at the clock.

Pam yawned, "What time are we supposed to be at your sister's house?"

"11:00," Jim told her, "We've still got time to sleep."

"No we don't, Jim. Your nieces are – Jim!" She protested good naturedly as he began to place soft kisses on the back of her neck. He put his arms around her.

"Your nieces are going to be quite disappointed if their favorite uncle is late for their Easter egg hunt," Pam said from his arms a few minutes later with a yawn.

Jim laughed quietly, "I think you've got the wrong holiday, Beasley. It's Thanksgiving; happy turkey day."

"Happy turkey day, Halpert," Pam said, smiling.

They stayed in bed for awhile longer, snuggling in each other's arms and wondering what this year's Thanksgiving would bring.

"We really do need to get up," Pam said with a sigh.

Jim kissed her cheek, "I know."

"Hey Pam," Jim said as they were getting out of bed.

"Yeah?" She glanced at him.

"You know what I'm thankful for today?" He asked.

"Not having to see Dwight?" Pam guessed.

Jim chucked again, "Well, besides that."

"What are you thankful for today, Jim?" Pam asked, now curious.

"You," He replied, kissing her again.
