Oh, please. You always had a choice, Vincent, and you knew it. You could have chosen to stay in the only safe spot you had- your eye of the storm: that stupid, dumb, idiotic coffin.
Vincent, you could have chosen to leave me behind in that horrible darkness.
You chose not to…
You didn't stay behind in that eye of the storm- no; you flew right into it, with all your heart…
"Gah! No, that's terrible!" exclaimed the Great Ninja Yuffie Kisaragi, tossing the paper aside and onto the floor. She held her raven black hair in her hands and rested her elbows against the desk. "Why can't I even write a stupid, dumb, idiotic letter?! My stupid, dumb, idiotic brain just can't put some stupid, dumb, idiotic words on stupid, dumb, idiotic-"
"Do you find amusement in using the same three adjectives to describe everything you see?"
"WAAAH!!" Yuffie fell out of her swivel chair- or, in her words, "spinny thingy"- screaming, and onto the hard floor. Pain numbed the back of her head. "Oww...owie…" She sat upright at a small laugh and turned to glare at the person who had startled her so.
And standing before her was none other than Vincent Valentine, chuckling at her pain.
"Oh, well, this is just brilliant!" she shouted sarcastically. "The one time I get you to smile, and it's because I'm in pain!" She took her soft-gloved hand and gently touched the sore spot. "Well, that's gonna leave an interesting bruise…"
Vincent just smiled. "Not quite. While you were in pain…"
Yuffie's eyes widened in a You're-kidding-right? type of look.
"…I read your letter. You're right."
"…What?"
"I could have left you behind. But I didn't."
"…I'm confused…"
"As expected."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
