Author's Note: I haven't found any Jenny/Nate stories here, so I decided to make a little oneshot. It's kind of sad. Hope you guys like it.
XOXO GOSSIP GIRL
Their first kiss. It was her first. Well, the first that ever meant something. The other one was just Chuck Bass. But when Nate kissed her, it was romantic and beautiful.
Of course, she understands the kiss wasn't meant for her. Due to a mask mix up, Nate believed she was Serena. The kiss was supposed to be Serena's kiss. Her idol.
Serena was and still is her idol. That wouldn't change due to jealousy. Serena was beautiful, kind, smart, and perfect, and she didn't blame Nate for wanting Serena, nor did she blame Serena for attracting Nate.
Afterwards, Nate realized his mistake and tried his best to talk her out of telling Blair. She couldn't though, not when Blair was so excited about getting Nate's ring. It broke her heart that she upset Blair with the truth. It broke her heart that there was a possibility that Serena and Blair's friendship might break down. But worst of all, it broke her heart that she was disobeying Nate's wishes.
But Serena had Dan. Serena loved Dan. Nate needed to realize that. Nate could have any girl he wanted. Blair was always there, fallen too deep for him than she should've. And Jenny never understood why so many girls fell so hard for Nathaniel Archibald. To her he was just another high class, spoiled, Manhattan prince. But kissing him, talking to him, being that close to him, hugging him... he changed her mind without even realizing he'd done so.
She couldn't tell him. Blair would ruin her. Her father would wonder what happened to his kids, why were they so interested in upper east-siders? And Serena... Well, Serena could go two ways on this; either she'd be into it and want to help her out or she'd be mad at Jenny for trying to steal Blair's boyfriend. Not like Nate would be interested anyway. She was just a wanna-be from Brooklyn and Nate was... Well, he was Nate Archibald.
So, as she's riding in this cab, Jenny thinks about how she'll never get the man of her dreams. She'd never be the Cinderella in this story. That role was taken by either Blair or Serena. Dan was Serena's Prince Charming and Nate was supposed to be Blair's. That's how life goes. If you're parents have the money or power, you can get any guy you want. But if you're parents are seperated, one an artist, the other a former musician, struggling to get you into a private school in Manhattan, well you'd count the blessings you did have, no matter how few.
Yes, beautiful, rich girls like Serena and Blair were the ones to live happily ever after. Girls like Jenny don't get fairytale endings. They just don't.
"So much for my happy ending," Jenny sighed. She had to deal with the facts. Right now, she couldn't wait to get back to the borough where she belongs, crawl into her bed and just cry, let it all out. After she'd done that, she'd be okay and move on ... Eventually.
