Okay wrote this while stuck in bed with the flu so it might stink or maybe its alright I don't know :) R&R please!! no flames!

L eyed the photo of his suspect pointedly over the rim of his coffee mug. Lights face was so un-offending and clear. To any other person that might happen upon this profile, Light seemed like an ordinary student blessed with both nonpareil good looks and brains. But L wasn't any other person.
L looked from the photo to the man sat not 5 feet away. Same name, Same face, same boy. but his eyes. the eyes of the man in the photo looked wise if not terribly bored, as though living a perfect life was mundane and simple to him. L hide his envy.
But there was no mistaking the fact Lights eyes had held malice and evil in his nearly red iris's when L and he first met, even thought recently as they remained bound by the chain around their wrists his eyes had appear far more innocent. they where the eyes of Kira, or at least had been, at one point. If L only had the proof.
"Ryuzaki come look at this.." L slipped from his thoughts and turned towards Light's computer. Another murder. Another Heart attack. Another one bites the dust.
And there was nothing L could do to stop the killing short from strangling Light with his own hands, Which he simply couldn't do. After all, Light was his best friend. The irony wasn't unnoticed.
"interesting" L said in a blasé voice. Light nodded, clearly choosing to ignore L's lack of enthusiasm and continue with his act.
"so it seems this man had killed his partner in a jealous rage at a pub, but he informed the court he was heavily drunk and unaware of his actions...seems Kira believes the man knew what he was doing all along ..."
if Light was aware that L had tuned him out, he continued anyway. But L's mind had once again wondered to the topic he'd been avoiding thoughts on.
Without the excuse of Kira, what reason did L have for showing his face?
After Light was apprehended (for it was not a matter of if but when) what was to become of Ryuzaki?
He knew the answer, he'd go back to England and start a new case as L right away.
He go from Ryuzaki, a living person with a friend of near equal intelligence, to L, a letter on a computer screen with a scrambled digital voice. As far as the world would know, the dark eyed black hair man know as Ryuzaki never existed, and never would. Hideki Ryuga would continue to be a name linked to the famous movie star, no one would ever connect it with him.
"your not paying attention Ryuzaki" stated Light. L looked up from his knees to him.
L was like dark itself. Easy to see as a literal item, but impossible to be seen as anything more. Light cannot exist without out Dark and Dark is nothing without Light. Polar opposites and bitter enemies. But a necessity for each other.
L knew many many things, and one of these was that
"Light-kun, I was wondering if after this case is solved, would you care for another tennis match?"
if there was Light.
"sounds like a good idea Ryuzaki, maybe next time you'll win"
there would always be Dark.
"and I have been wanting to show you how to pilot the helicopter, so long as you don't crash it or your odds of being Kira will rise by 7 percent "
"Ryuzaki Im not Kira"
"so you keep saying, Light-kun"
"cause I'm not!"
and its the way he hoped things could stay.
For now at least.
