He walked in and I swear, everything in the area acknowledged his presence. All the background noises coming from outside had completely stopped. It went absolutely quiet.

Mrs. Potter had introduced him to my parents first. He shook each of their hands and gave them each a smile that made my knees just about give away. What was going on? This never happened. Maybe it was because I've never properly looked at him or spoken to him, but he was turning me into mush and I did not like it one bit.

"Maybe it's something in his genes, he has the power to make people fall over him", I thought.

"Oh my god, Rose, you're turning into a head case, that sounds ridiculous", I chided back.

I almost didn't notice when Mrs. Potter diverted his attention from a conversation with brother to me.

"And this is Rose, I'm sure you know her, dear", she said as she held a hand in my direction.

I focused my eyes on his. He gave me this quizzical look. I just stared at him. It took every atom in my body not sink from my weak knees. I felt my breath get caught in my throat. Was I going to vomit?

"Oh, please, let me make it to the loo", I begged in my mind.

"Yes", I said aloud, "we are in the same year and…"

"I don't believe we've met," he interrupted.

Holy. Cow. He was not doing this. What exactly was he doing?

"Uh..."

"Sirius," It was the first time I had noticed James was in the room. He stood next to his father, looking confused.

"Oh, come off it…" he started again.

"I'm sorry", Sirius interrupted his best friend, with a side of sweetness that I'm sure was fake. It made me feel even sicker.

"I don't remember meeting you, I'm Sirius", he finished, not breaking his eye contact with me. I swear I saw a twinkle linger in his eyes.

Well, this was embarrassing. I could only pick up where he left off.

"Rose", I said as I extended my hand out. He took it and dropped it a second later.

That was just about enough time for my arm to go numb from the shock it just recieved.

God, this was horrendous. My face felt hot with embarrassment and I was about to vomit. Was this happened to all those girls who talked non stop about him? Was I just like every other girl out there who fell to Sirius Black?

No, I wouldn't be. This was absurd.

We stood in the same place, not breaking eye contact, for about thirty seconds before I heard someone forcing a cough to diffuse the tension.

"Well, let's all move to the living room and get some drinks, shall we?" my father piped up.

I have never appreciated my dad so much in my life.

Sirius moved before me, falling in step with James and the adults. It was just my brother and I back by the door. I looked at Dan, who gave me a sympathetic smile. Oh no, it must have been bad if he did that. I looked back to where the others now were, in the kitchen, at the same moment Sirius looked back toward where we stood.

A smirk danced across his lips, the twinkle clearly visible in his eyes.

Author's Note: This is a preview from a few chapters into the story. Please give me some feedback on what you think of it so far! If you have an advise, please share! I am here to learn and fix my mistakes.

As you have probably noticed, I don't have a name for the story yet. I'm terrible with titles, so it may be a while until I come up with one.

I would also like to note that the story, in the beginning at least, is about Rose and how her friendships evolve and etc. There isn't much Sirius in the beginning, but he will be in it, trust me.

I hope you like it so far and that you will stick around for the whole story.

Thank you so much!
