None of the characters belong to me, unfortunately! There will be another chapter, obviously, but not sure if there will be anymore after that. Enjoy! :)

The dwarves were violently pushed through the long winding halls of The Greenwood, now known as Mirkwood. They were shut in small dark cells that not even the strongest dwarf could break.

"The dwarves are in their cells, my lord." Tauriel said.

"Bring me Thorin Oakenshield." Thranduil replied. She left to carry out the order. Thranduil suddenly felt quite faint. He clutched the table next to him. Soon he heard footsteps. Heavy footsteps. He stood up and puffed out his chest regaining his haughty air. Thranduil dismissed the guards. They left with some hesitation. Thorin Oakenshield stood in front of him. Thranduil had longed for and dreaded this moment for years. The dwarf's eyes fixed upon him with an angry look.

"Thranduil." He said in his deep voice. "It has been a long time."

"Yes, indeed it has." Thranduil did not know where to look so he pretended admire the fine drapery. He felt his the dwarf's gaze on him. He grew more and more uncomfortable in the silence.

"Thorin-" he said in an almost pleading tone, but he was interrupted.

"You think all is the same? You betrayed me! My people! The very sight of you disgusts me!" Thorin yelled. Thranduil felt a tears stream down his cheeks.

"I wish i could undo the wrong i did you all those years ago. I would give anything to take it back. But i cant. Dont you see? All i can do is ask for forgiveness. I will do whatever you want." Thranduil felt so small. As if Thorin was the one looking down at him.

"Forgiveness?" The Dwarf almost laughed. "I would not trust Thranduil, the great King, to honor his word should the end of all days be upon us! You lack all honor! I have seen how you treat your friends. I came to you, asking for help but you turned away from the suffering of my people in the inferno that destroyed us! I loved you once. But that flame had been put out long ago."

"Im sorry." Thranduil whispered. Although all hope for them in Thranduil's heart was gone, Thorin's words were not entirely true. The flame had not been put out entirely. But his proud nature would not let it be revealed, yet.
