"5…" The timer is ticking. The time is very slowly running out.

"4…" I stand, anxious, waiting for the gong to sound.

"3…" Time just can't go any quicker, can it?

"2…" Why is it taking so long? Is it just my worried thoughts that are making things go far more slowly than they should?

"1…" This final second is the worst wait…It drags on for what seems like hours…or even days…

There's the gong. Now, time slows down to a point where rational thinking is almost impossible…As the others head for the Cornucopia…

Blood is spilled…

Cries of agony are heard…

And the sound of demonic laughter rings through the air…

I run, as fast as I possibly can, gliding over all of the weapons, trying to avoid my fate...

But some fate cannot be avoided...

Oh shit! No, I've tripped!

Somebody has jumped on top of me!

She has her knife held high, and she is staring with her black, merciless eyes...

She smiles at me, and then 'mocks' me, "Oh, please don't kill me...P-please, I'll do anything...Please don't hurt me, bigger and better tribute from District 2...Haha! Well, I'm sorry, but..." Her voice becomes even more patronizing, and single tear flows down my cheek...I don't want my family to see me being tortured like this. I try to choke out, 'please kill me...' but me cry is absorbed by her hand, which is wrapped firmly around my throat.

"Awww, don't cwy...Are you an ickle cwy baby? Well..."

Her glare locks on my chest... I can't believe that she has time to do this. There are plenty of other teenagers running around for her to kill, and she should finish with me quickly, so she can get more kills, and avoid getting killed herself.

"Goodbye..." She drags out in that horrible patronizing voice. Then, I shriek in pain, horrible pain, as her knife plunges deep into my-

My timer...has run out.
