The Journey of KaiGuyo
Hey guys, this is my very first fanfiction. It follows the story of Sword Art Online, through the eyes of an average teen. Hope you guys like it! Disclaimer: I do not own anything in this story except for my characters that I create.
Today was the day. The day I'd been waiting for months to come. Today was the day I got my NERVE gear and my copy of Sword Art Online. I've been waiting in line for hours, but I know it's worth it. When I first saw it on the MMO forums, I whent right away to sign up for the beta, but was utterly rejected. So I waited. And now my wait was finally over, as the doors opened, and the crowd rushed in. When I walked out of the store, NERVE gear and game in hand, I was hit from behind. I stumbled onto my knees and clutched the items to my chest, hearing a voice from behind. "Hand em' over, chump!" the voice demanded. I didn't move, and I was struck in the side, causing me to lay on my side in pain. "Now!" the voice demanded again. I laid there, unmoving, waiting for the next blow to come, but it didn't. I heard the sounds of shoving, and then a different voice. "Just leave him alone, man"
"Oh c'mon Klein, I was just messing with the kid" the first voice said. "I said, leave him alone" I turned to see a red-headed guy in maybe his early twenties standing over me, offering me a hand up. I took it and he pulled me up to my feet. I dusted myself off and then looked at him. "Thanks man" I said to him. "No problem, by the way, name's Klein" he extended his hand to me. "Kai" I said taking his and and shaking it. "I best be on my way home, my family is probably worried." I said. He stopped me, "Hey, you were in there for Sword Art Online, right?" "Yeah, was just about to go home and set up." I told him. He took out a small peice of paper, scribbled on it, and handed it to me. "Here, add me in game if you want, we can meet up somewhere." I took it and put in my pocket. "I think I'll take you up on that offer." I said. I started to walk off but turned around to wave goodbye, but Klein was already gone.
When I got home, I whent straight up to my room and closed the door. Setting the equipment up was relatively a breeze. I laid down, and put on the helmet. I had already read the guide, and knew exactly what to do. "Link Start!" And so began the longest game of my life.
I know this chapter started out kind of slow, but trust me, there is action to come! Stay tuned for the next update.
