As previously discussed, I broke my promise to never write fanfic again. It was irresistible - some dialogs are too rattling to be kept in my head only after reading Notwolf's "The Voldemort Diaries—Chapter 39 (Poke the Dragon)". I would like to thank to both J. K. Rowling and Notwolf for the pleasure of playing with their respective toys and do not intend to step on anyone's toes, read infringe any copyrights. All credit is theirs, spelling mistakes are all mine.
And I loved the chance to pay for my district firefighters' calender! I think the men who go into the inferno to save someone knowing perfectly that this can cost them their own lives are due the utmost respect! Hats off!
Dolph and Macnair were standing in front of the kneazle's box. Macnair was trying to make the lazy thing moving by poking it with a thin straw.
"Don't do that! He will spit all over you and I will have to clean around."
"So what, big deal, stay few minutes more and have fun!"
"Nope, I am going to work!"
"I thought you were working here!"
"I do, but I have a new job as well!"
"Something to do with nude women?"
"Sometimes!" Dolph smiled."If they don't manage to get dressed when the fire starts!"
Macair was visibly intrigued.
"I thought you need to undress them for the fire to start, or this is some new form that I have not done yet!"
"You don't get it. I am a firefighter."
"You plan to become a nun? I mean, if you will fight this kind of fires..."
"Not nun, you dumb friend of mine! First, the men who do this are called monks, but I am not going to be one. I help extinguish real fires. Like houses burning, got it?"
"Now this is not fair! You have all the fun of putting the house on fire and then extinguish it - and get girls naked. And you did not share with your old buddy! I thought we were friends!"
"Nooo!" Dolph groaned. "I put the fires the others have started."
"Oh, it is a team play, like in the old times! Can I join, if there are positions left I will go with the firestarters. Probably it is easier to start on their part, they don't get the naked chicks, there should be vacancies. Let's go now, you can introduce me to the mates!" Macnair threw the straw in the kneazle's cage and looked expectantly.
"You don't get it. Haven't you read something about firefighters at all? Like physical endurance, stuff.."
"Can't recall, honest! But you passed the test and I am in better form. You can put me on a calendar for the naked chicks, like the souvenirs they like to get at the end of the year..."
Dolph shook his head. It was going to take more time to get McNair to grasp the idea, but this is why one has friends. To help him, right? Firefighters' calendar! Such an idea could only come into Macnair's head!
