Fire Dancer
Falling towards a grayish dawn
I look up and swiftly yawn
Until the bloody tinge has gone
I watch and wait all through the night
To see the ending of the fight
But nigh will be the time for flight
My fate is not to see the end
To see the battles on the mend
The future lies in melody, my friend
Far away, across a sea
I face another destiny
Who am I, a queen to be?
Just another heroine
A juggler, a minstrel man,
A writer, pirate, courtesan
I sing for children, far and wide
I face a tyrant ne'er defied
My revolution justified
A flash, a crack, a single flame
Whose whisper speaks without a name
A fire breather takes the blame
What blame in lighting up the night?
Sweet orange, incense, firelight
What will it take to end the fight?
Words have yet to escape my lips
Sweet honeyed wine the vagrant sips
The ever-howling wind still nips
He lives and breathes by but one mask
"Is one sad song too much to ask?"
He will return to his eternal task
One chaste kiss graces his cheek
The words we do not dare to speak
Are the ones found when all is bleak
Goodbye, my love, where you may be,
Find me in every star you see.
A/N: Just a short poem/song about Dustfinger's absence from Roxane's point of view. Hope you like it! -Em
