Chapter 1

Torn Emotionless Love

"Please…"

"I can't."

"I'm begging."

"I love you too much to hurt you. You're not ready."

"I am!"

"Shut up." Sealed with a kiss.

Four years later

The blond alchemist screamed as the nerves in his auto-mail where connected. Most thought the pain of undergoing two auto-mail surgeries at once would kill him. Ever since that day, that fateful day he came, the day Ed's stomach permanently tied itself in knots. He swore to become a state alchemist. If not only to find the philosophers stone to fix his brother's and his own body, but to see that beautiful face once more.

"Ed? Are you okay? You've got a fever" Winry's worried voice lulling Ed from his state of unconsciousness.

"Ngh... I-I'm fine, or at least I will be." Ed replied, struggling to sit up, only to feel a soft hand gently push him back down.

"Don't try to get up, you need your rest." A small voice muttered placing a cool wash cloth on the poor boys face, luring him back to oblivion's safe arms.

Months later

"C-Colonel!" Ed stuttered, his stomach fluttering like it had those months before.

The tall onyx haired male flashed a smile as the brothers stepped off the train, not surprised by the larger one clad in armor, or shall we say, made of armor.

"Good to see you with working limbs runt." His deep voice sent a chill down his spine that stopped short. Runt?!?!?
"Don't call me small!!!" Ed yelled, stamping his feet rather childishly, only to be more frustrated when the elder laughed, turning to walk away.

"We've got to go if you want to make it in time."

The young alchemist almost forgot. Today was the day. The day he became a dog of the military. A State Alchemist.

The Elric brothers rushed to catch up with the colonel, the sound of the smaller boy's footsteps differing with each pound on the warm pavement.

"Each Alchemist will have to show their skill through a display of art in physical combat." The booming voice announced. "First match, Zachary Arisle and Laurence James."

The two brunette males grinned, taking their places, each in a defensive pose. The larger, Zachary took the first punch, slamming his fist against the other's gut, sending him to the ground in pain. Using his pain to his advantage Laurence quickly drew a transmutation circle, slamming his hands down. A large rocky sculpture shot up from the ground after a large flash of light.

"Oh my God!"

"It's gonna fall!"

"He'll be crushed!"

Instinctively Ed rushed towards the toppling sculpture rather than away from it. He clapped his hands, unsure why until touching the sides of it and watched, amazed as feathers fell instead of rocks and boulders. The crowed stood in a daze, shocked by the young boy's talent.

Ed immediately felt a set of hands on his hips, hidden by the long red jacket dangling from his slender body. A light pinkish color dusted his cheeks as he realized who's hands were lightly stroking his pale skin.

"Edward Elric!" The president's voice called, forcing him away from those oh so talented hands.

"Your talent is very impressive for such a young boy" Colonel Roy Mustang smiled. "Fuher President Bradley has decided… you will now be known as the Fullmetal Alchemist!"

Roy laughed at Ed's confused face. "Each State Alchemist has a codename mines Flame." The blond smiled, causing the elder's heart to soar.

"Congratulations your now officially a dog of the Military"
