This is somewhat of a rant about the Bible if you believe that every single word of the Bible should be fallowed without question than I don't know if you would like this.
God is a wonderful creative nurturing being. I however want to say that I strongly doubt Satan has ever made any person do any of the bad things that they do ( unless there is some strange new criminal that really is the anti-Christ but I don't think there is.). It really makes me angry when people say that the Devil made them do something. I even strongly doubt the Devil is a real person/thing yes God created him but I say all He did was create an idea.
What I believe the Devil and Hell are are the dark mirrors of Heaven and Earth is something in between. I think that Hell and the Devil are just reflections of our own personal evil and wish to be punished for disobeying our Creator. I believe that even the truly evil people realize somewhere deep in their subconscious that what they are doing is against the will of the creator and will punish themselves for it in Hell until they truly know that they are absolved of their crimes. Yes I do think that we punish ourselves, we do it because we are inherently good not inherently evil and we all truly know what our Creator wants of us whether we have read the Bible or not! I mean most of the stuff is fairly obvious you would have to be pretty sick to think that killing was all right for example.
I also do not believe that the Bible is a flawless creation. It is something that was written by fallible mortals and which has been recopied, translated, and edited so much that the only true Gods word lies in the general meaning of the passages. It is not necessary to fallow the Bible word for word because many of those words are flawed!
As a response to a very nice reviewer named hemlock I am going to clarify some points and one of them is that Satan was definately created as he is the fallen angel Lucifer. I believe that while God has been around since the dawn of time he did create the angels. Lucifer is the rular of Hell who is responsible for punishing the damned and whatnot. What I believe it that the whole IDEA of Hell is just that it is not a place on any physical realm it is a place where our souls are purified of sin by self- punishment which we realize we need when we are confronted by the truth of what we are. My comment on everybody knowing the Bible was referring to AFTER we are dead. I should rephrase my inherently good inherhently evil thing to this: we are born inherently good BUT with the potential to become influenced and do evil things or even become evil. I merely believe that we do not have to strive to be good to work off the sins we were born with I believe we must strive to be good to PREVENT evil to take root in us.
I also agree with you saying that we can be brainwashed into believing that truly evil things need to be done for the good of God afterall those Taliban fighters think that what they are doing is right. All I can say is that when they have died and realize the truth of what they have done I can only pity them.
