A little Frozen Potterverse AU oneshot collection, moved over from my main account.
The familiar tapping sound on the windowpane made her cringe.
Was it that time of year already? If only the warmth of summer could have lasted even a little bit longer.
Pushing open the frosted window, she hesitated for a moment. What if she didn't tell mother and father about it? What if she just pretended she'd never gotten a letter this year? Would they believe that she hadn't been invited back to school? Would they still make her go anyway?
Of course they would.
They wanted her to learn how to control it.
How to stop it.
She didn't think she'd ever be able to.
Even when she was away at school, she still woke up with frost on the bedposts and ice on the nightstand. In school and out, she avoided using her wand, outright refusing to so much as pick it up if she could get away with it.
It was supposed to make things better. It didn't.
No, instead it made things so much worse.
This year, next year, ever year. She'd still room alone because the cold bothered everyone but her. She'd still have every spell she tried backfire on her. Her classmates would still laugh when it happened.
It was supposed to be a school for people like her, people with magic, but nobody else seemed to struggle with their magic as she did. For them, they cast a spell and although there were mishaps, they eventually improved. She, on the other hand, struggled to not accidentally freeze everything she touched, struggled to make simple spells work as they were intended, struggled just to keep it together.
She was as isolated at Hogwarts as she was at home.
Taking the letter, she sighed as the bird took flight, leaving her to her solitary confinement once more.
Or so she thought, until the flutter of wings drew her attention to the window once more.
A second owl was waiting on the sill in a less-than-patient manner. She paused for a moment, her breath catching in her throat before she reached out to take the letter it held in its curved beak.
And as she read the name on the letter, her hands began to tremble with something akin to relief. Her voice was barely a whisper when she spoke.
"A letter for Anna."
I always appreciate hearing what you have to say, so please review.
All the oneshots contained in this collection are companion pieces for my Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons multi-chapter, which will see Elsa and Anna in minor roles only.
