It's finally here, the long awaited follow-up to Thom E. Gemcity's popular Deep Six. The Last of Lasts follows the continuing exploits of Special Agent L. J. Tibbs and his team. In this action-packed installment, Agents Tommy and Lisa are trapped in a shipping container filled with two tons of shoe forms. With no means to escape, the two young agents can only sit back and hope their intrepid leader finds them before they're killed by the smugglers or die of starvation. How will they pass the time?
Once again Gemcity takes us on an exciting ride as Tibbs growls and browbeats his way through uncooperative port authority officials and Tommy and Lisa do everything they can to keep warm as they await rescue. Gemcity continues to paint vivid portraits of his characters, taking readers deep into the mind of Tibbs, a man tortured by secrets from his past. The characters of Tommy and Lisa are fully fleshed out, in more ways than one, giving us a rollicking adventure with more than a little heat.

This book is even better than the first. The scenes with Tommy and Lisa should have been written on flame retardant paper. Tibbs is such a tortured soul, and he cares about his team very much, they're his family. I highly recommend this book, but be prepared to get all hot and bothered when you read it.

Five Stars - Now that's what I'm talking about!, March 25, 2007

I wasn't too impressed with Deep Six, it seemed like a lot of wish fulfillment on the part of the author, but this book blew me away. Tommy and Lisa are so meant for each other – at least physically. I would love to see much more of the two of them, in more detail.

In his dreams. This would never happen, it's one long wet dream put down on paper.
