Wake
By Allysha Reay
Darkness seems to overtake me, trap me
The dead trees weep their leaves like tears fall down
The darkness can't seem to let me be me
It suffocates me, just like I could drown
Caressing hands seem to slide down my arm
That sickly sweet breath fills my nose and lungs
I know this darkness wants to cause me harm
My heart breaks as I lose myself and plunge
Shadows slip past me with grins on their face
Forest of the dead, is dismal and grey
Spider webs weaved together like lace
I lean against a tree and try to pray
And then my body began to quake
At last I could finally wake
