Couldn't Ask For More

Lying here with you, listening to the rain.
Smiling just to see a smile upon your face.

He laid awake, in the middle of the night, listening to the drops of rain pouring down. Once upon a time, he hated…loathed rain. They used to remind him of losing somebody. His mom. He almost lost her too, when it was raining. The one he loves more than his own life.

And these I thank God I'm alive.
And these are the moments I'll remember all my life.
I found all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.

He turned on his side as he pulled the blanket up to his chest. He smiled when his gaze fell upon the sleeping figure beside him. His wife. The love of his life.

Looking in your eyes, seeing all I need.
Girl, I think you are it's everything to me.
These are the moments I know heaven must exist.
These are the moments I know all I need is this.
I have all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.

He watched her sleep. Her breathing, the rise and fall of her chest. Everything about her was mesmerizing him. Only God knows how much he loved her.

I could not ask for more than this time together.
I couldn't ask for more that this time with you.
Every pray has been answered. Every dream that has come through.
Yeah, right here in this moment, it's that we're all meant to be.
Oh, here with you, here with me.

Slowly, he moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her bloated stomach. He kissed her cheek and lips. She stirred. A moment later, she opened her eyes. Two big midnight blue eyes met his ambers.

And these are the moments I thank God that I'm alive.
And these are the moments I'll remember all my life.
I've got all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.

"Hi… What time is it?" she whispered in a sleepy tone.

"Three-twenty," he smiled.

"What are you doing up?"

"Just listening to the rain… and watching you sleep."

His wife gave him a small smile as she snuggled into his muscular arms. Warmth spread through both of them. Ichigo kissed the top of her head. The familiar strawberry shampoo filled his nostril. It was very pleasant for him.

This was what he had been dreaming of. Just to be here with her. He knew, he couldn't ask for more. "I love you," he muttered.

Ichigo could feel that the woman in his embrace chuckled. Then, he heard the reply.

"I love you too," and that just made Ichigo's smile blossomed fully on his face.

They stayed like that until Rukia eventually fell asleep back in her husband's arms, safe and sound beside him. Ichigo smiled once again at the view behold in front of him. His Rukia was once again peacefully asleep beside him and everything fine. No more those Hallows or Vizards or whatever to disturb their lives. Their happy ending.

Ichigo kissed her head once again before placing another one on her lips. Then, he finally let his eyelids close for the night.

I could not ask for more than the love you gave me
cause it's all I've waited for.
And I could not ask for more.
