Just a thought one day about the friendship between the two and tried to explain it. Don't know if this is the end. I probably will rewrite it later. Let me know what you think.
Nothing was ever said between the two just a nod or a look and they were off. It was down right scary and the other five couldn't quiet make it out. It was as if they were made with the same brain but a different body. A bond they could only describe as being brothers, knowing where the other was and if something was wrong, knowing what the other was thinking. The other five had a close bond that went beyond friends to family but these two there was something different.
"I don't get how you do it." JD said following Chris from the saloon. "I mean how did you know Vin was going to be there?"
"Listen Kid. I've explained it before. I just did." He took a drag on his cigar and threw it out on the street before heading off towards Nathan's. "How is he doc?" He asked coming into the clinic where Nathan was bandaging Vin.
"I'm fine. I keep telling all of you that." He growled from the bed.
"Sure cowboy you look like it all black and blue." Chris grinned.
Vin rolled his eyes. "Well if the rest of you would stay out of trouble I wouldn't have to keep jumpin from those roofs and fallen now would I?" He said it half seriously.
"Now where would the fun be in that?" Chris sat beside Vin. "Well Nathan?"
"He'll be fine. Sore a few days won't be able to ride a week or two to let those bruised ribs heal. I'll never get over how you people can get hurt so much so often." He slammed the clinic shut.
Chris turned back to his friend grinning. "Feelin alright?"
"Yeah." Vin lay back in the pillows Nathan had propped him up with. "How about you?"
"Nothin wrong as near as I could tell. Other than missing my right hand man. OR should I say left." He pointed to the trackers bound wrist.
Vin rolled his eyes again. "Nathan said it was just till swellin goes down nothing else."
"Good. Miss Nettie's been looking for you."
The young man in the bed grimaced. "How bad?"
Chris laughed. 'Oh she said a few words and stormed off. Something about a no account bank robber hurtin her boy. I think she said something about shootin him then you." Another groan. "Don't worry Vin. We'll be here to watch your back."
"Yeah long enough to see her shoot it." The tracker gave up. "Where is she?"
"Oh by now probably Eagle Bend looking for the robber."
"He got a way?"
"Nope. We sent him there to get her away from him"
Vin chuckled then grimaced. "Don't make me laugh cowboy."
"Sorry. Feel up to something to eat?"
Vin grimaced. "Ain't so sure my stomach would like that right now." Then he grinned. "Unless of course it happened to be one of Miss Nettie's pies." He raised an eyebrow at Chris.
"You know. I heard Casey saying something about Nettie doing that just after she said she was going to shoot that robber then you." He patted his friends shoulder and stood up. "I'll go get it for you. Rest easy cowboy. Don't want you fallin from any roofs."
"Ha ha. Very funny Chris."
