A plot bunny bit me. I'm posting this exactly as it came. On with the angst, and if you ain't figured out by now I ain't what's-it that actually writes said book series, you're an idiot.

(Lucius) Malfoy, - under Voldemort's Crutacius, trying not to scream - Malfoys do not scream or whimper or beg. Repeated sessions, each a bit longer.

On his knees. Trying to wrap arms around his belly, working against Bella's cursing.

Another ordered to perform the curse. Agony ripping through him - and a sudden, sharp pain that has nothing to do with the Curse itself.

A screamed denial - too pain filled to be fully understood. More screaming, grief. Tears. End of the curse.

Blankly obedient, receiving orders. Doing as he was told.

Still blank, curled silently next to his maimed, still bloody lover, unnoticed and unheeded tears still leaking from two sets of rarely blinking eyes.

Severus waking when he begins screaming again, holding him as he writhes in pain. Severus panicking, bringing him potions to help, not knowing what is wrong, trying to help.

Severus staring blankly at the bloody, ruined thing he holds so carefully as Malfoy chokes on a sob as he tells him what he holds is the surprise, and asks how he likes it, enjoyed destroying it. Tells him to get out. Tells him they are no longer lovers, and never will be again.

Severus being driven from their bed, from the Manor. Walking with no direction, still staring at what he holds. Suddenly realizing everything he has lost this night. Raging, screaming into the night.

Vanishing, he appears - frantic, crying, blood soaked - in Dumbledore's office.

Holding out the remains of his first and only son, the only child he would have, and begging for absolution, the last trace of his innocence thoroughly shattered.
