Sparkling like the Snowflakes

She tumbled into their little cottage, leaving trails of happy shrieks and laughter behind her for Seamus to follow. He trips on the little icy patch at the entrance of their home and nearly bowled her over as he skid in and landed unceremoniously by the Christmas tree.

"Well, at least you'll be toasty now," Lavender grinned as she shut the front door and sauntered in, divesting herself of her thick overcoat and boots first.

Seamus didn't reply as he sat up and gingerly crawled over to their tree. For some strange reason, Lavender had grown very fond of sitting beneath the sprawling tree while thawing off before the fireplace, which is why the tree had been placed so alarmingly close to the crackling fireplace.

"Come here, silly," he grumbled as he rubbed his frozen arms and she complied willingly.

"How do you have it in you to brave such cold temperatures?" He asked with surprise as she walked over to him. There were little snowflakes melting all over here, reflecting the light off the fireplace and giving her a seraphic aura.

"I…I don't know, really," she replied. She sat down on the worn wooden flooring, folding her legs before her as she cuddled into Seamus' side. His hand moved across her back and clasped her waist gently, pulling her closer into him.

"But if you could have borne the cold just a bit longer, our snowman would have a nose and a smile instead of just eyes – he's creeping me out just a little." She stared at their almost complete snowman and shivered involuntarily.

"You're cold, too!" Seamus protested as he placed both palms on her shoulders and turned her around so she sat facing him.

"What are you doing? I quite liked having the tree as my back support," she whined.

"Just warming you up," he replied softly.

"Mmm," she moaned softly. "And how do you plan on doing that?" She looked at him through hooded eyes with every part of her daring him to touch her.

Emboldened by her inviting voice, his hands curl around her waist and pull her closer till she's almost on his lap. Their lips are seconds away from each other but he studies her face instead, smiling at the little crease between her eyebrows and the pucker of her ruby lips. His hands caress her damp blonde tresses and he feels her tense up.

Her eyes close on their own accord and he sees miniscule snowflakes nestled within her sweeping lashes. All she needed was a halo.

"You're my angel, you know that?" he whispered deliciously against her lips.

Without pausing to open her eyes, she undid the distance between them as her cold hands caught his warm cheeks and her lips met his in a heady rush.

"I think I'm definitely in love with you, Seamus," she confesses as they pull apart, and he looks at her with a quirked eyebrow.

"You think?"

She grinned.

"What do you think?"
