I don't own Witch Hunter Robin or Michael or Robin. I do own some coffee and I should buy some donuts.

Coffee and Donuts

Michael sat at his computer desk trying to hack into a database that was relevant to the current case the team was trying to solve. It was late at night, and he'd been working for hours. He'd long ago run out of chips and soda.

Robin quietly entered the room, for she didn't want to interrupt his work. He'd given her a lot of good information in this case. She knew exactly how to thank him.

"I brought you this." She handed him a box of donuts. There were six filled with chocolate cream and six filled with vanilla cream. All twelve were coated with powdered sugar. She'd found out from Doujima that these were his favorites.

"Thank you," was all he said. He wasn't sure how to take Robin most of the time.

"I'll make a pot of coffee."

"That will be nice."

As the coffee brewed, she peered over his shoulder at the pages he'd been researching. She was keen to continue this case as soon as possible.

When the coffee was ready, she poured two cups. "Do you take sugar?"

"Two teaspoons." He answered. "And just enough creamer to lighten it a little."

"I like it black. It's bitter like the rest of life."

"So cynical," he thought. "yet so young and naïve."

They sat in companionable silence for the rest of the night just sipping their coffee and doing research. He stole a glance at her every so often, but she was too engrossed in the files she read to notice him watching her.

He handed her a chocolate cream donut, and she smiled graciously. She ate it neatly, and wiped the powdered sugar from her mouth with a napkin.

"You missed a spot." He said and took the napkin and wiped her face. She stifled a giggle.

"Goodnight, Michael." She said.

"Goodnight, Robin." He blew her a kiss as she walked away. He didn't know if she saw it.
