Please note: I typed this while super busy. I'm sorry if it's not as good as it could be.

Zael sighed again, wondering how he managed to get roped into giving both Mirania and Yurick a candle-lit dinner. He glanced over at the two, Mirania enjoying the wide variety of muffins and breads that were displayed on the table and Yurick was slowly munching on some piece of French bread.

"Zael, is something wrong?" Mirania asked after she had finished her fiftieth muffin of the night, "You've been looking rather down." The worry in Mirania's voice was present and both guys heard it.

"Nothing is wrong; I'm just never going to make a bet with you again." Zael shook his head slightly as Yurick chuckled

"why did I get dragged into this?" Yurick asked once he had finished working on the piece of bread he was eating and glanced at Mirania, who smiled.

"Oh, aren't things like this best in a group of merry people who aren't always yelling and talking about fights and trying to drink them self-incoherent?"

Yurick thought for a moment, and then asked, "As much I don't like being near him, why didn't you invite Lowell then?"

Zael let out a slight laugh and nodded, "We needed someone to keep Syrenne in balance with the Tavern so she doesn't drink it dry forty times while we're gone." Yurick blinked a few times before shaking his head and going back to eating.

Mirania closed her eyes and leaned back a little on the small wooden stool and smiled. "Zael… do you know why Dagran stopped buying me all the muffins I wanted?"

Zael thought for a while before giving up, "No… why?" Mirania opened her eyes, giggled, and went back to eating, never answering Zael's question.

The dinner continued on, much longer than they had predicted, and the three only noticed that they had been eating the breads all night when a sharp, and rather cold, gust of wind blew past them making the three of them realize just how much time they had spent outside. "Oh my, how silly of me. Time seems to have passed us in a blast. It's almost dawn." Mirania giggled, "I can't speak for everyone, but I had a fun time!"

Yurick nodded and muttered an agreement along the lines of 'I'm glad I got away from the loud social butterfly that Syrenne is…' while Zael stood up to stretch his legs since they were sore from the vast amount of sitting that he had just done. "As agreed, I'm paying." Zael sighed and shook his head.

"Alright then, we'll head back to Ariela's place!"Mirania grabbed Yurick and dashed off as the waiter came around with the bill for their dinner.

"Sir" He handed the bill over and the Zael stared at it for a few moments, then rubbed his eyes, and stared at the bill again. "S-she's lucky I-I can pay f-for this…"

The scream that came from fountain plaza that night could be heard all the way into the Empire's castle on the mainland. "Ten thousand three hundred and twenty four gold?!"
