Kind ofFreaky Friday-ish. Right after Eclipse. I'm starting right after New Moon, basically.
Prologue
BPOV
I watched anxiously out the window. Edward wasn't going to be coming through it, but I couldn't help waiting. He was hunting this weekend. I had asked to visit Jacob, but he had given me that look of his and said,
"That's not safe, Bella."
Of course. I sighed. Jacob was miserable. My fault. I had to do something, but I couldn't. I couldn't go visit him. Oh, what would I do?
A shooting star flickered across the sky.
"I wish they didn't hate each other." I whispered to it, "I wish things weren't set in such an ultimatum."
Then I remembered what I was doing. Wishing on a star. How stupid of me.. I slid the window shut and climbed into bed, still wishing.
EPOV
Something was wrong. Definitely. I opened my eyes, the faint shadow of a dream following me into consciousness. I remembered hearing a voice-Bella's, saying something about me.
Wait. Dreaming? That would require sleep. Impossible. Stupid. I sat up. I was laying on a bed in a very unfamiliar room. More proof that something was dreadfully amiss.
I stood up and inched down the hall to a cramped living room. A man was sitting in a wheelchair, watching the news.
"Jacob, you should have left for school half an hour ago." He said.
"I'm sorry. What did you call me?"
"Your name." He said, turning to look at me.
I glanced at my arm, expecting the pale white to convince him that I was not, in face, Jacob Black. But there was no white. My arm was brown. The wrong color.
I flew out of the house, shaking for some unknown reason, and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Jacob's face.
JPOV
Weird. I must be having some really creepy dream. Because I was just going to sleep, and now, here I am, sitting in the car with all those bloodsuckers of Bella's.
This dream sucks.
"Edward? You okay?" One of them asked. The big one. What's-his-name. He was looking at me. I didn't say anything.
"Edward?" The short one said twisting around in her seat, "What's wrong? It's only been a day since you've seen Bella. No need to be so worried. She's fine."
"Oh no."
"What?" Alice! That's her name.
My voice sounds just like his. This is a very, very bad dream. I smacked the side of my head to wake myself up. I stayed right where I was. That's always worked for me beforeā¦unless I'm not asleep.
"This is not normal." I muttered.
"You're being really weird." The blond girl told me. What's her name? Something about flowers. Violet? Lily? Rose? Yeah, that's it. Rosalie.
I was getting really irritated now. Funny thing was, there was no shaking. No fighting against phasing. I was just mad.
"Do I look any different?" I asked suddenly.
"Are you worried Bella won't think you look good? You're becoming self-conscious, Edward." The big guy said with a laugh.
"That's not it at all." I muttered.
They all gave me the most amazed looks.
"What language was that?" Carlisle asked.
Oh, dang it. I'd been speaking in Quileute, quite by accident. I smacked myself again.
I really hope I wake up soon.
