Just a short ficlet that hasn't left me alone. Humor and GSR ensue.

"Terri? You're not serious."

The expression on his face was worth it alone.

"Sure, why not?" she asked innocently.

His shoulders dropped as he let out an exasperated breath. "Sara you know why not."

Still playing dumb she asked, "Why? Would you rather it be Maddie or Heather?"

Nope—that expression was worth it too.

Suddenly getting serious his eyes searched out hers. "Honey, you know I don't love them. I never have. " At her lack of reaction he pulled her into his lap-finding little resistance. Cupping her chin to make her face him he searched her eyes for understanding.

"You are the only one for me. Hands down. End of story."

She smiled-about to lose it-though a tear escaped down her cheek. Her man could be so endearing at times, but he was ruining her moment with this sudden romanticism—and she almost wanted to give in to it.

Almost.

She picked up the box that she'd handed him moments before and traced the lettering that read "Caution: Live Animal" on the side before peeking inside.

"Haven't you ever seen Fierce Creatures? "

He smiled grimly. They'd watched it together on a few occasions.

"I have. I also know which Terri you're referring to. Nice try honey, but pretending like you're paying tribute to a move isn't gonna fool me. "

He ran his fingertips lightly up her arms and she gave him a resigned sigh.

"Well," she finally said, "I suppose you've got me there. Alright, I'll admit it—it is after her, but come on—you've gotta admit it's a little bit fun."

He quirked an eyebrow, the unspoken question all over his face.

She stood and crossed her arms before turning to face him again, a smirk on her face. "Now we can control Hank and Terri. They depend on us for everything."

He reached into the box and let the tarantula climb into his hand.

"Well, can't argue with that. Welcome to the family Terri."
