She couldn't feel this way. She wouldn't let herself. He was her partner, nothing more, nothing less.

But that still didn't change the fact of how she'd constantly think of him throughout her day. It didn't change how she laughed at his silly attempts to impress her. It didn't change how she noticed everything he did.

She was scared. She was so scared of what she was denying. After all, what would happen if she did accept it?

He didn't even know her really. He only knew the strong, caring, and brave hero that saved Paris from destruction alongside him. He didn't know she was really a shy, bumbling girl who can't seem to do anything right. A girl who is completely invisible. Because who would love a girl like that?

That was only part of the problem however. She still had feelings for the blonde boy with emerald green eyes, who sat in front of her every day. Was it really possible to love two people at the same time? Her father had always told her, "If you love two people, always choose the one you loved second, because if you truly loved the first, you wouldn't have fallen for the second".

But she did love the first. He was a complete mystery to her. His cool demeanor and his shining smile always made her light up inside. She always was proud of herself when she managed to hold a conversation with him. She had loved him for the longest time.

But what did that mean for the second? For her clad in black partner. Her best friend. Her hero. Did that mean she didn't really love him? I mean she couldn't right? You can only truly love one person right? But... She secretly knew she did have feelings for this feline. How his devious grin consumed his features, sparking something within her. Or how his puns always made her laugh so much. Not to mention his stupid little actions to get her to notice him. Like him tripping over nothing, or pretending he could fly.

She was so confused and terrified of how she felt. Did she even love either of them? Did either of them even care about her? Was she completely invisible like she had been all those years before?

After all, no one had even payed attention to her until she became a spotted heroine, saving Paris from the black butterflies that took advantage of another's heartbreak. No one had noticed the shy baker's daughter. She was too unimportant. Too helpless. She was like a little dog lost of the streets, covered in mud, no one even giving her a second glance. It hurt. It hurt so badly. No one had cared for her. Not really. No one had noticed how much she was dying inside.

Then a little red blob covered in black spots made it's way into her life. It gave her a mask to hide behind, one she could take off to be herself, or leave on to be who she wished she could always be. The cool, calm, collected hero, saving everybody from pain. Instead of the weak, clumsy girl making pastries in her kitchen.

So really, who was it that she loved? The one she's always cared for since as long as she could remember, or the hero who snuck his way into her heart before she even had suspicion. Maybe one day she'd find out. Maybe she wouldn't. But what would it matter, if neither of them knew who she was. If only one of them cared for her. What would it matter, if she was forced to choose. Because no one could ever choose between the two people she could never forget.

Adrien Agrest and Chat Noir, her whole world. Who did she love?

A/N: Because I realized I knew exactly how Marinette was feeling, and needed to write it down. The confusion of having feelings for two people is something you never wanna have to deal with. Especially when you don't want feelings for one of them, because that will change everything, or the other because you know they will never feel the same way.
