Hermione walked up the stairs of Grimmauld Place. It wasn't odd to not see anybody around there anymore, even though Harry did live there. After losing his fiancee, Ginny, to cancer, Harry barly left his room anymore. When Ginny died, Hermione had rung Ron on his mobile, he was so shocked by what she said that he ran his car into a tree and died so Hermione knew exactly how Harry was feeling and the only thing that kept her going after the death of her husband and best-friend was the aim to make Harry smile again.
Smile, tho' you heart is aching
Smile, even tho' its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky,
You'll get by,
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
She knocked on his bedroom door and without waiting for an answer opened the door. Harry was sitting in an armchair in the far corner of the room. Hermione walked over to him and got down on her knees.
'Harry?' she said hoping to get him to look up from the picture that was lyeing on his knees. 'Harry, you have to get out of here, it's been two years! I understand how you feel but you have to let go, you have to try and smile, she would want you to be happy' she said slightly pleading for him to just come with her.
'Come on, stand up' she demanded. He stood shakingly and lifted his head to see her face. She saw red streaks down his pale face from crying so much. He followed her downstairs and out the front door.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry race of sadness.
Altho' a tear maybe ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you'll just smile
'We're going for a walk around the lake at Hogwarts, alright? We're going to have a picnic there. Please say something' she pleaded.
'Mione I am over her, I swear it. She's not who I've been crying for' he said in a quiet voice.
'Then what's the matter then?' she asked in a caring tone.
'I'm in love, and it makes me feel so bad, it's like I'm cheating on Ginny, even though I'm not with this other girl I love, and I don't think she'd want to be with me anyway' he said sadly.
'Who is it Harry? I'm sure they'll want to be with you especially if you love them as you seem to do' Hermione pressed.
'You' Harry said looking up with a weak smile. Hermione moved towards Harry and suddenly gave him a huge hug.
'Don't ever think I wouldn't want to be with you, you're the only thing that's kept me going since Ron and Ginny...'
Harry and Hermione did have their picnic together, but instead going as friends they went as a couple.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry race of sadness.
Altho' a tear maybe ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you'll just smile
