A/N: I've been wanting to write something for this pairing for awhile now (they are my favourite couple in Naruto after all!) and manged to brush off this quick little oneshot rather quickly. I hope you enjoy it!

Lady In Red

Minato had always thought the colour suited her.

Granted, as a child, she'd harboured some deep insecurities about her hair, loathing how its obscene length and unsual colour made her an easy target for ridicule.

But regardless, Minato felt her hair was her greatest feature.

It was the evidence of her heritage and longevity, the mark of her unique beauty, and most importantly, the red thread of fate that guided them to one another.

.

He could remember rescuing her when she had been kidnapped by Kumo ninjas, holding her tight in his arms.

He was captivated by the sight of those long, silken, crimson tresses that flew erratically around her, catching in the wind.

So beautiful, so wild, so free.

So very much like her, in a way.

It was the first time he'd been able to summon the courage to express how much he admired her, and her hair.

He specifically recalled the light blush that adorned the soft, porcelain skin of her face after those words had left his lips.

For it was in that moment that he realised how much the colour truly suited her.

.

Throughout the years not a lot had changed.

Even in this moment, as he gazed over at her, the strength completely drained from his body, he couldn't help but reach out a hand to gently caress her cheek.

One last time.

She had never looked more beautiful to him. With a weak, bittersweet smile adorning her face, as the red, sticky fluid spilt from her chest.

And like always, Minato found himself captivated by those long, silken, crimson tresses of Kushina's, that flew erratically around her, catching in the wind as she fell.

A/N: Please R&R. I'm hoping to write some more MinaKushi in the future, so keep your eyes pealed. ;)
