Ice Cream Cold

The delicious coolness elicits a long sigh of pleasure. Two feet stamp with utter delight. An otherworldly giggle pierces the veil of peace.

A pillow knocks the lamp over. "Eat in silence!"

The royal head of blue nods enthusiastically. The sounds cease for a long moment of bliss.

He hasn't listened. They know he hasn't. He never does.

It begins again. The long sighs and muffled coos rise. The feet stamp. The elbows clap because the hands are occupied.

Rin whines, glancing up at her brother lounging lazily on the couch. "Make him stop, Len. Please?"

He stops mid-bite and frowns at her. "Oh, Rin, why do I have to? Can't I finish my banana? Why don't you stop him?"

She replies between bites. "I can't,"

Len growls lowly and settles into a deep sulk. He wraps one arm around himself. Half of the banana disappears down his throat. He pretends not to notice the impatient stare of his sweet and beloved sister.

"Ah," Gakupo lurches upright, elbowing Luka. "Miku-chan! Don't you owe Len a banana?"

She pauses in the doorway. Her eyes slowly scan the room for any trace of hidden agendas. They almost instantly fall upon Kaito.

"I'm not falling for your tricks, Gakupo. I owe Len-kun a banana. You can't use that against me," she huffs. "Come on, Kaito. Gakupo's being mean to be again."

He whines. His hands shuffle along the couch as he slowly rises. His efforts aren't aided by having his head tilted back as far as it can go to catch the melting sweetness.

She pouts. "Kaito, if you come I'll buy you that Yuki Tōken you want,"

Miku shrieks as she collides with the thin carpet. The door's glass window smashes to pieces. The tiny shards cascade around her prettily.

She sticks her head into the living room. "You're mean!"

Miku sighs tiredly. Her legs ache from swinging back and forth. She sticks her tongue out half-heartedly at people staring. The pristine, glowing white of the café has long since become a blinding prison. Two empty bowls of different flavoured ice creams lie next to her.

In comparison, thirty five empty bowls lie next to Kaito. He sucks up the contents of three at a time. The pained expressions that flicker every two bites or so have stopped being amusing. Miku sighs again. She rubs her face into the white painted wood of the table.

A careful yank on her hair drags her back up. "Ouch! What-?"

"Be careful," Kaito murmurs between scoops. "You could get… a splinter… in… nose… Yum…"

She rolls her eyes. "Thank you,"

She offers a shy smile knowing that he won't notice.

Author's Note: I know. I'm really bad at this. However, the way I see it is that I won't improve if I don't try. Therefore, you're probably going to be stuck with a few more of these.

Thank you for reading. I do hope that you have enjoyed this piece. I apologise if I have failed you.

*Yuki Tōken - Snow Token. It's a token for ice cream.
