Author's note – Now this story arc is what happens 15 years after the Civil War ended. I made this as a like a bit of a crossover of batman and sonic a bit, but no batman in it.

Chapter 1

Tails No More

Date: day 317 (November 13th) year 3267 P.X.E

Age: Tails = 42. Mina = 46. Skye = 9. Melody = 15. Fiona = 46. Scourge = 47.

It has been very peaceful all over the planet Mobius, thanks to the end of the civil war, everyone has been able to live in peace for these past 15 years.

It is late in the night in the city of Spagonia. Miles Prower, aka Tails, and his wife Mina Prower, along with their two children: Skye and Melody Prower; are on their way home from a nice dinner. "That has got to be the best hamburger I've ever had!" Melody said thinking of the meal they just had.

Smiling at the young mongoose, he remembered the times he and his parents would go out for dinner together during the time after they returned to Mobius and before the civil war. Looking at Mina, he saw that his youngest, Skye, was holding her hand. Skye was always the shy one, his son reminded him of how he and Mina were like when they were younger.

"What did you think of dinner Skye?" Melody asked her little brother, but he just nodded in response.

Looking down at Skye, she noticed a nervous look on his face. "I have never seen him this nervous before." Mina thought, concerned for him she asked "Skye, what's wrong?" the little two tailed fox looked at his mother "N-n-nothing." Skye stuttered. Nodding Mina made a mental note to talk to her son about this when they got home.

The family had just walked past an alley way, when suddenly someone attacked Tails' side, sending the twin-tailed vulpine flying into the alley way. "MILES!" Mina cried, surprised by the sudden attack on her husband. "Mom! Look!" Melody cried to her mother pointing at the attackers. Skye shivered in fear and hid behind his mom. Turning around Mina gasped as she recognized who these attackers were. Her face turned from scared to a scowl "Scourge and Fiona!" she stated in an angry tone.

"Hey, Mina. What's up?" Scourge asked with a grin, "It's been a long time, guess you finally got over me Tails, huh?" Fiona mocked smirking, "Oh. And you've made yourself a family too, I'm sure that you're a real proud daddy." They both laughed after Fiona said this.

Tails stood up, "What do you two want?" Tails asked not the least bit happy to see them. "I'm glad you asked fox boy." Scourge mocked, a devious smile growing on his face, "We want your children." Fiona stated with the same smile as Scourge "We owe you, after all the trouble you caused for us at the beginning of the civil war. Just consider it a wedding gift for us."

Mina brought Melody behind to stand her next to Skye, "Not happening you bitch!" Mina said furious, then she bit her tongue for saying that in front of her children. "Oh, no need to be so rude. After all you don't want to give your kids a bad way to think of you, now do you?" Fiona mocked smiling.

"Shut up!" Tails shouted.

Wam! Tails just charge and slammed into Fiona and Scourge, sending them to the ground five feet away from where they just were. The two of them began to get up, "If you want my kids, you'll have to go through ME!" Tails shouted, glaring furiously at the two of mercenaries, "Mina take the kids, and run. I'll deal with these two." Tails whispered "I love you Mina, be safe." Scourge, no longer joking, locked eyes with Tails "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get punk!" Scourge shouted, charging at the twin-tailed fox, with Fiona alongside him.

Mina watching them collide had a worried expression on her face "I love you too Miles, be strong…" Mina whispered back worried for her husband. And looking back one more time, she grabbed her kids and ran at top speeds. "…and please don't get yourself killed. I don't need that kind of pain in my life again." Mina thought remembering that terrible experience that left her devastated.

Author's note - Wait a minute! Did Mina just tell Tails not to die "again"? And Tails has both of his eyes again?! How many times has he died?! And I thought he lost his eye during the civil war! Also, why do Scourge and Fiona want Tails and Mina's children?

TAILS

Miles "Tails" Prower is locked in combat with Fiona Fox and Scourge the Hedgehog, while his wife Mina Prower, Tails' wife, is running at top speeds, trying to get her kids as far away from Fiona and Scourge.

Fiona jumps in the air and delivers a spinning fox kick at Tails, but thanks to years of fighting his friends during the civil war, Tails anticipated this attack and he ducks, letting the kick land right into Scourge's face. Staggering back, Scourge holds his bleeding nose as he tries to steady himself. "Babe! I'm so sor-" Fiona is saying until Tails grabs her leg which is still in the air, and flips her over his shoulder and throws her at Scourge, the two of them fall to the ground with Fiona laying on top of Scourge.

Unimpressed by their fighting technique, Tails stands up and pulls on his right glove and letting go allowing it to slap against his wrist. "Please, make this a challenge for me." Tails said with a half-smile. Scourge brings himself back up onto his feet, scowls at Tails and uses his super speed to charge at Tails with his hands out in front. Tails smirks, quickly side-steps and sticks his leg out, tripping Scourge sending him toppling over and landing head first into a cardboard box.

"Oh, common! I've fought Sonic to a standstill and he was more than a match for me, but your nothing." Tails stated disappointed in them both. Fiona suddenly threw a punch at Tails, but Tails grabbed it and punches her in the stomach. Leaning over onto her knees and holding her belly, Fiona coughs and looks up at Tails.

"And as for you? Well I've fought Sally to a standstill as and she was equally a match for me. But you Fiona? Heh. You're just pathetic!" Tails stated.

"I should be done with you two in say about: 5 to 7 minutes tops." Tails said obviously bored of how these two couldn't even land a hit on him, much less give him a challenging fight.

"How did he even do that?" Fiona thought scared by the kitsune's strategy. "It's almost like he knows what we're going to do before we do!

(Flashback: yesterday)

Scourge, Fiona, and an alien called Eclipse who is the last of the dreaded alien race, the Black Arms, had just finished going over the plan with their boss one last time.

"Please, you really think we'll lose to that kid? You know, you need to have a little faith in us. We could take the kid on anytime, anywhere! And we'd be done before he even knew what hit him!" Scourge joked.

"Hm. Perhaps, but you both know that he has fought many of his own friends during the civil war. And from what I heard: they say he cannot be defeated, they say he knows what you're going to do before you do. Which makes sense, after all he is the prophesized Chosen One, and remember what actions he took that ended the war?" a deep voice said to them from within the shadows of the darkness.

The couple shivered at the memory of what their target had done then.

"I still don't see why I have to go after his wife and kids, Mephiles. Not that I don't agree with your plan, it's just that I still want vengeance for what Shadow has done to my race! Along with Knuckles and that freak for getting in my way of stealing the Master Emerald!" Eclipse said angrily smashing his hand into the wall.

Eclipse looked a bit like Shadow, but with a hint of the Black Arms to his appearance.

Mephiles walked out of the darkness and looked down at his ally, "Patience Eclipse, patience. You will have your revenge in time. But just be ready for when the time comes, then you and your Dark Arms shall have your revenge." Mephiles reassured the being he just called Eclipse.

Mephiles also had a very similar look to that of Shadow as well, except for the fact that his whole body and clothing were all black and grey, and that he had no mouth which was surprising since he could speak.

"Still, why do we need his kids?" Fiona questioned confused with the plan, "I know that you need them something that's really important, but wouldn't that only just tick him off and make him come after us." And that thought scared her more than ever.

"Don't worry about him. Scourge, you know what to do to keep that fox from interfering with our plans." Mephiles said in his calm way which makes your skin crawl.

"Oh yes. And I can't wait for that part! It's got to be my favorite part of this plan!" Scourge stated beginning to laugh at some point during his statement.

(End of Flashback)

MINA, SKYE, & MELODY

"I took Shadow down more than once, why do you Prowers have to be such a PAIN?!" Eclipse demanded yelling as he just recovered from a figure-eight move from Mina.

Mina didn't respond. She just leapt into the air and delivered an axe-kick into Eclipse's jaw.

Staggering back, he held his jaw and spat some of his aqua colored blood at the ground. "Okay. I done playing with you!" He shouted ticked off.

As he ran at Mina, Cregal flew to him and merged with him. Once they merged together, Eclipse grew big wings on his arms which took the place of his hands. Flapping his arms, he flew high into the sky and turned around to face the ground.

Mina, surprised by the sudden change in form just stood there watching him fly to the sky, as Eclipse turned around and glared at her.

"Uh oh." She thought remembering when she saw Rouge the Bat made the same action during the last few days of the civil war.

Turning to her children, "Melody, take your brother and run. Don't stop, just run!" Mina told her daughter. "Find somebody that can help. I'll come and find you afterward, I promise."

Taking Skye up in her arms, Melody using her super speed, she ran with her little brother away from the area, knowing full well that they were who these people were after.

Turning around to face her flying foe, Mina braced herself for the alien's attack.

TAILS

"Youch!" Scourge yelped as Tails hit him in the back with a fireball.

Looking at his back, he saw that there was a burnt hole in his black leather jacket right above his left hip. Scowling at Tails, he cussed under his breath in frustration because it was his favorite jacket.

"You'll pay for that!" Scourge yelled obviously pissed off.

He ran at Tails fists out in front. Tails just smirked and waited, then he sidestepped at the last moment out of Scourge's path. As the green hedgehog ran pass him, Tails grabbed Scourge's arm and unleashed a bolt of electricity through the mercenary's arm, expecting another yelp of pain from the green hedgehog. But it didn't come, Scourge turned around and punched Tails in the face, sending the magic wielding two tailed vulpine sprawling backwards.

"Ha! You grabbed the arm of my jacket idiot!" Scourge mocked proud that he finally landed a hit on the fox.

Getting back up, Tails looked at the ground and saw a pile of books just lying there, and remembered an old saying from an old friend: "Books! The best weapons in the world!" Grinning, he grabbed a book, lit on fire using his magic abilities and threw it at Scourge.

"What, the, fuck? Ahhh!" Scourge screamed as the flaming book threw the air at him.

Tails laughed with amusement. "What's the matter Scourge? Afraid of a little book?" Tails mocked.

Looking to his right he noticed Fiona leap into the air and kick out her leg. Grabbing another book he cast a spell on it and threw it into the air right before Fiona landed her kick into his stomach.

The book, hovering in midair, transformed into a huge origami centipede. It was at least 3 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It landed on the ground behind Fiona.

Turning around Fiona screamed in fear at the sight of it "Scourge!" She cried hoping he had stopped fooling around with that flaming book that was chasing him.

Not too far away, Scourge had just grabbed a garbage can lid and slammed it on top of the flaming book. With a sigh of relief, he stood up from the ground and began dusting himself off. For a moment he forgot that he was standing on top of the lid covering that book, the book began to shake and then suddenly, it blew up sending Scourge flying through the air and landing face first on top of the huge origami centipede, cutting the big paper bug in two.

Tails just laughed at how humorous this fight was going when he heard a sudden cry. He could tell that the cry was full of pain and hurt. The voice sounded way too familiar to him, "Mina!" he said silently to no one. Turning around he took flight and flew towards the sound of his wife in pain.

MINA

"AHHHH!" Mina cried out in pain as Eclipse brought her back down onto his knee. With the sound of the crack, she knew that he had just broken her back.

Eclipse let the mongoose fall to the ground. Putting his foot on her back, he pressed down on the broken mongoose's back.

Mina cried as the foot began to press against her spine. Looking up she saw Tails flying out of an alleyway and towards his injured wife. "Tails… Argh!" She cried again as Eclipse dung his heel into her back.

"Mina!" Tails called in fear for his wife. Looking away from his wife, he glared at Eclipse and charged at the alien.

Shoving the alien off his wife, "Are you alright?" he asked full of worry as he brought his Mina up into his arms. Looking into his sky blue eyes she saw the fear and rage inside of him, she could only nod her head in response. He smiled at her, knowing that just she didn't want to worry him. Even as she was injured she was still beautiful, her golden fur, spring green eyes, and long purple hair.

Suddenly another familiar scream rang out. Tails realized who the scream belonged to, and his faced changed to one full of fear and rage. "Melody!" he said standing up with his wife in his arms, he was attacked from behind.

Mina fell to the ground, and cried at the jolt of pain running down her spine as she landed on her back. The impact sent Tails flying into the wall of a nearby building, he grunted as he hit the wall and fell to his feet and slouched as he put his hands on his knees.

Looking up he saw Fiona and Scourge standing in front of his wife who was still on the ground and had turned over onto her chest. "Now where do you think you're going?" Fiona threatened looking just as ticked as Scourge.

Getting up, he heard the sound of something being fire from behind him. Tails suddenly felt excruciating pain run through his body and fell to his hands and knees. "NO!" Mina screamed with fear and sadness in her eyes as tears started to fall from them.

Looking to his side Tails saw a tail float to the ground, looking back, he was shocked at what he saw. He had only one tail and the stem of the other one, and he realized that the tail next to him was his. Looking back further he saw Eclipse with his right arm lifted and the palm facing him. "The boss says were done here and to report back to base." Eclipse stated looking at his two allies.

Fiona was just shocked that Eclipse had just shot off one of Tails' tails, but she nodded in response not moving. Scourge turned around and spin dashed Mina on her back three times, the attack making her scream out in pain. After the third one he grabbed a lead pipe and bashed her over the head before dropping it and walking away. "Well that was fun!" Scourge exclaimed grinning only to get a nod from Eclipse in response. "Common babe, let's go."

Nodding again Fiona walked towards the green hedgehog. But giving Tails a look that he had never seen on her face: guilt. "Guess 'Tails' is no more. Looks like you'll need a new nickname, 'Tail'." Scourge teased as he took out a chaos emerald they held each-others' hands and shouted "Chaos Control!" and disappeared.

Turning towards Mina, Miles saw that she was unconscious. Standing up slowly, he picked his tail, and walked over to his unconscious wife. He brought her close when he reached her and tears began to fall from his eyes. "I'm so sorry Mina. It's all-all my fault. I should have been stronger and faster." He whispered to her full of sadness and heartbreak, but he didn't care about the fact that he lost one of his tails.

Lifting her up, Miles began to walk towards the hospital.

"Don't worry Mina, I'll get our kids back no matter what. Even if it kills me, I'll make sure that those bastards pay. I don't know how, but I will somehow." Miles thought making a face that would make even Shadow run for his life.

Author's note – Tails has lost one of his tails and his nickname along with it, Mina has a broken back and is in a coma, and their children have been kidnapped. What does Mephiles plan to do with Skye and Melody? And what does Tails plan to do in order to save his children? And how far will he go? I hope you enjoyed it. Please review.
