Pokemon: Ash's Ultimate Quest (Rewrite)
Author's Notes: Shocking, isn't it? Never expected me to make a grand return with a rewrite? Oh, don't worry! I plan to do much more in the future, but for right now, let's just focus on the story (I might make a fanfiction for Sly Cooper).
Chapter 1: Vacation!
Arc Summary: Ash and gang made their way to Altomare, a water city that's in between the Johto and Hoenn regions! As they seem to relax, something strange begins to happen!

Ash's Point of View
Excitement! The only thing I can feel at the current vacation friends and I are about to take. —Very, very ecstatic as the view of Altomare appears in front of my very eyes and point of view. And when thinking of this place, I get relaxation. Something I lost once I kept traveling then onto Johto —the feeling that left once I died at the hands of Mewtwo. Shocking? How am I able to remember that event Mewtwo caused who wiped the memory out of plenty of our minds? It was horrifying; the nightmares I keep getting was causing me to reach high-stress levels. And now the boat is beginning to stop at the dock towards our little vacation —oh the excitement is unmatchable! But, there's that hidden fraction of fear I have been trying to hide on the darker side of my mind for quite a while; that all started when we first discussed this vacation. And with that, my gut tells me something is about to go down. "Ash, come on!." A voice too familiar as I have and still am traveling with the owner of said voice...
"Misty?," I mumbled to myself quietly as a hand soon took grip onto my left shoulder, "Let's start getting our things.," she said as she then lets go of my shoulder and starts to walk towards the direction of our room. The orange haired tomboy soon disappeared from view, leaving me to sigh a little bit and begin to pick myself up from the railing. "Here I go.,"
The blazing sun was soon taken over by the leaking tears from the clouds in the sky. I smiled at the rain, giving me various flashbacks when I decided to leave Pikachu in the forest so that he can interact with the other pikachus and when I died. —Slowly, very slowly the walk had felt. The view of the room where everybody and I slept in soon became seeable as I walked right into the wall next to the door.
"Shit.," I cussed as I picked myself back up from the fall. The pain, it only stayed for a bit before becoming nonexistent, then —blood? "Oh great, my nose is bleeding.,"
Normal Point of View
The Kanto Native soon opened the door, then proceed to walk through the doorway. The room and boat gave the boy flashbacks —the time where he and his friends almost died in a sunken ship. It gave the boy nightmares for weeks and it still slightly bothered him to the current.
"Good thing I don't bring many things.," As Ash picked the bag up, something slipped through the crack between the two zippers, then laid on the bed in front of the boy's very eyes.
"Dammit," The Kanto native picked the photo up from the bed, "I miss you, buddy...," he continued as he slipped the photo back in. Ash then took off from the emptied room.
Flashback
"Ash...," Misty didn't continue once she saw the tears of the young boy. "Why... WHY?," The boy yelled furiously, he quickly grabbed a picture frame and threw it towards the wall.
"Misty, let's give him some space.," An older boy's voice said as he took a grip on the girl's shoulder.
After the duo left, Ash slowly got off the messy bed and picked up the frame he threw earlier. "I shall avenge the fallen —YOU!," The photo in the broken frame contained Ash and friends; the missing glass shaped a circle on the very pokemon Ash started with —Pikachu.
"And trust me, they will fall!,"
Back To The Current
"Ash, come on and let's get registered for that race!," The usually grouchy and hotheaded girl said. The boy nodded and trailed behind the girl.
"Wait up!," The same boy from the flashback yelled at the two younger individuals, but the duo just chuckled and giggled. "Learn to catch up, Brock!," The older boy —now known as Brock —facepalmed at the childish behavior; then slowly starts given them chase.
As the three becomes specs to eyes of spying individuals, the two mysterious individuals started to discuss a particular boy. "Isn't he that disgusting goody boy that foiled a lot of the boss' plans?," The one with the purple hair asked as she took a sip of her coffee.
"Perhaps he is; if in that case, we should do this quick and not get caught.," Another said as she looked at some jewels, "After this mission, I will steal those shiny gems.," she declared.
Back With The Three
"You two should start being more patient!," Brock said while gasping for some air. The other two just chuckled and giggled, "Sorry, Brock, but we didn't have a lot of time.," Misty told the older male.
Brock laughed, "Don't worry, it is fine.," the older male —while tired —still had enough energy to move around. As Brock finally quit his little laughing fit, he noticed something. "Where's Ash?,"
With Ash and His Point of View
The two's conversation started to bore me beyond the expectations my mother have for me to meet my father. The inner thoughts they have are not what I care and fodder; thus, uninterested talk make me go farther.
"Young man!," I heard someone yelled. The tone of the voice stopped time, and curious, I turned around to see who yelled at my behind.
"I want to have a battle!," A man stood there. The man held on a smirk while readying a small sphere. "Articuno, I choose you!,"
With Misty and Brock + Normal Point of View
"That's interesting!," Misty said while looking at a weirdly created structure. Brock nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I would love to hear more.,".
"Our city has much history to it; in fact, we arguably have more history than most towns all over the world!," An old man said as he noticed how interested the duo was.
"I wouldn't be surprised! Thanks for lecturing us with some of your town's history, Lorenzo!," Brock shook the old man —now known as Lorenzo's —hand before he and Misty took off elsewhere.
"Children these days.," Lorenzo said as he began to walk towards a seat. "I wonder how Latias and Latios are doing?."
"Is anyone here?." He heard someone say from the doorway. The old man slowly got off the chair and walked towards the door, "Yes, welcome to the museum!," Lorenzo greeted with a smile.
"I would like to learn some of this history, but first.," A young male stood there, "Have you seen a girl with orange hair and a man with lines as eyes?," he asked.
"Yes, they left a few minutes ago.," Lorenzo said as he gazed at the boy with curiosity. The boy sighed, "Looks like they did it before me. Anyway, I am Ash Ketchum!,".
"Weird name, makes me imagine some thirsty pikachu trying to get some ketchup without knowing it got burnt to crisp.," The entire comment made Ash slightly upset, but the old man didn't notice.
"Anyway, let me show you a tour and give you some knowledge.," Lorenzo said.
"Good thing I bought some popcorn!," Ash said as he brings out the popcorn.
(AN: Skipping this part because it is useless!)
"What is that huge machinery?," The Kanto native pointed at said machine, "Looks like something from the Matrix.,"
"That is the Defence Mechanism of Altomare!," Lorenzo answered the young boy. Said boy jumped in excitement, "Does it use Reflect or Physic?," Ash asked.
"No.," Lorenzo chuckled at heart to the boy's questions.
"Does it use Flamethrower or lasers?," Another question the boy had made.
"No.,"
"Uhh... Pokeporn?," The boy may have looked innocent, but the answer was the exact opposite.
"NO! It destroys the city with water!," Lorenzo growled at the last question, it made him feel uncomfortable around the boy.
"Should have called it the "Machine of Destruction," not that gay garbage.," Ash said as he looked away in disgust. The old man facepalmed, "Young ones these days.," Lorenzo grumbled as the boy began to laugh at his antics.
"Well, thanks for the tour and the history!," Ash bowed in respect to the old man before taking off.
Lorenzo stood there for a bit before thinking, "Something tells me this won't be the last time I see him.,". The thought of that made him hungry.
At The Pokemon Center
"Welcome to the Pokemon Center!," The Nurse Joy said with a tone filled with excitement and cheerfulness. The quiet nature of the Pokemon Center felt nice, but even that wouldn't stop our favorite pervert.
"Ohh my lov-," Misty's hammer met the perverted rock trainer's face.
"Ouch!," Brock yelped as he took a grip on his bleeding nose.
Nurse Joy took notice and quickly grabbed some tissue, "Here's to settle your little issue!," Nurse Joy said.
"Brock, Misty just set a world record on you!," Ash appeared before the teen's very eyes. The teen jumped back in surprise, "Ash!?,".
"Pleasant!," Ash grinned at the older male's reaction, it reminded him of their travels in Kanto and of Brock becoming Misty's punching bag.
"Where have you been?," Misty asked in concern of her fellow companion and friend. The void of silence grabbed its remote and turned the volume into the silence of no end. And with the ten seconds of silence, Ash decided to remove the lock that was created by that silence fiend.
"I ended up battling another trainer.," Ash said in pride.
Flashback
"Articuno, I choose you!," Ash stared at the man in complete shock, "AN ARTICUNO!?," the Kanto native nearly screamed. Despite his encounters with legendary pokemon beforehand, the site of another legendary, and no less being own by a trainer, is mind-boggling.
The man laughed, "YES! Me —Noland —owns the legendary Articuno...," this made Ash chuckled a bit. The Kanto native decided to reply, "You might just be a good challenge, and while I did want to take a vacation from all the battles, I guess you'll be an exception.,".
The man —now known as Noland —laughed once again, "Show me what you have, kid!,". And that earned a smirk from Ash, "Sure.,".
"Charizard, I choose you!," The Kanto native threw the pokeball up in the air, and as the pokeball was still airborne, it exploded out red energy which began to materialize into the Pokemon the trainer selected.
The Charizard appeared to be larger than most Charizards and had a powerful aura surrounding it. The man flinched a bit, "DAMN! The aura is powerful!,".
The man took a small glance at the pokeball that contained Articuno before throwing it, "Articuno, I choose you for real this time!," Noland said.
The Articuno materialized from its pokeball and glared at the opposing pokemon. "Now, attack with Ice Beam!,"
Ash waited and waited, and as the attack neared Charizard, "Dodge, and make a spiral of flames by using FlameThrower!," Ash commanded. The giant orange lizard obeyed and took flight into the air, and as it was above the ice legendary, it spits out hot burning flames while moving its head around to make the spiral prison.
Noland's eyes widen, but as he was about to order an attack, he was too slow. The ice legendary was not visible due to the flames that circled it and with no other way out; it was impossible for it to escape without getting hurt.
"Dig!," Ash smiled at how well his simple strategy was doing. At first, he thought it wouldn't do well, but with how well it was working now; he changed his mind.
Charizard nodded and dug itself into the ground.
The older male could only stare in curiosity, "What are you planning?," he muttered while placing his finger over his chin.
"NOW, HYPER BEAM!," Ash yelled out, which made Noland jumped in shock.
A beam shot out of the spiraling flames while a sound of a bird that seemed to be screaming in pain. "ARTICUNO!," The man yelled in a worried voice.
As the flames dispersed into nothingness, and with the ounces of the Hyper Beam becoming less, they see Articuno laying who's vision was beginning to see darkness.
Noland stood there as his pokemon losses conscious; minutes afterward, felled onto his knees. "H...How did I lose?," The thought continued to mess with his mental state.
"Good job, Charizard!," Ash compliment his dragon friend as it gave the young man a thumbs up. "Now, return!," After a nod, Ash took out the pokeball that held the beast and recalled it back into it.
"Now, Noland!," Ash yelled to the person he just defeated.
End of Flashback
"After I smacked him out of his shock, he gave me two pokemon, and that's pretty much it.," Ash said while exposing his abilities to read one's mind.
(Additional Author Notes: I have been neglecting this story for too long, time to continue it!)
"Okay! What are the two pokemon you got?," Misty asked in curiosity.
"I got an espeon and a sylveon!," The Kanto native replied happily, but soon started to become depressed.
Misty seems to notice the change, "Why are you now sad?," she asked worriedly.
The Kanto native silently walked past her, and then said, "I feel like those bastards now.,".
Misty just stares at the boy, "Don't worry, you're not like them and never will be.,". Ash smiles, "Thank you, Misty.," the boy said as he then registers himself a room.
Later
"Misty, you might have a good point, but having two pokemon given to you after a battle when they possibly don't have a clue yet feels like them. However, I will take your word for it and continue to act positive, even when the past still hurts.," Ash said while staring at the bland wall.
End
Man, took me long enough to complete this. I am fully aware of the mistakes I made, like my writing at times being inconsistent and the plot is a bit wonky, but I will improve over time. This was just a test to see how well my English and grammar is, and I hope you all recognizant it as such.
This author note is just me typing fast without a care in the world, so I might obviously make mistakes on my grammar on this last bit.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this. C: Bye!
