Snow Day
John finds out that there is a planet that is not inhabited and has a lot of snow. He gets permission from Carter to allow him to go and see if it's suitable for them to use it as a place for recreation like snow boarding, skiing and other snow activities.
John meets up with Teyla and she agrees to go with him. They dress up in warmer gear; he gets some food and a couple of thermoses of hot chocolate and a few extra surprises.
They get to the planet and find a safe place to land. They find many places that they can allow the others to do their winter activities. John tries to explain some of the things that they do on Earth to have fun, but she still can't comprehend.
"Here look," he says as he forms a ball and rolls it into a bigger one.
He gets her to help and after they make one large ball for the base they do two more to form the body and head. She is still unimpressed. He motions her to wait a second and takes a few items out of his jacket. He was able to get a carrot from the mess hall, an extra hat and scarf, and some unwanted pebbles from one of the labs for the eyes and mouth. Teyla laughs at the sight and John can't help but join her.
Teyla starts walking towards the jumper and she feels something cold hit her from behind. She turns around and gets hit again. She sees John scooping up some more snow, forming it into a ball and getting ready to throw another one. She quickly catches on and the snowball fight begins.
They each get in some good shots and they finally call it a draw. John wants to show her one more thing before they go. He looks around for some undisturbed snow and leads her in that direction. He gets into the snow moves his arms and legs and Teyla finally does the same.
He gets up first and he offers his hand to lift her up. As he pulls her up she falls into his arms. They look at each other and find themselves closer then they realize. Their eyes lock and as the gaze at each other they begin to kiss. It wasn't something they planned, but it did feel right. John notices that she begins to shiver. He's not sure if it's because she's cold or if it's because of the kiss. Either way, it was getting late and they needed to go back to Atlantis.
They return to the jumper, John gets Teyla a warm, dry blanket and some hot chocolate. A strand of wet hair lays in front of her eye and he gentle moves it out of the way. Teyla moves in closer and they kiss again. This time she did not shiver.
She whispers, "Now I know why playing in the snow is so much fun. Thank you, John."
John's eyes gleam and he mouths the words, you're welcome, before he gets into the pilot seat and returns to Atlantis.
The End
