Everything was peacful and quiet. There was no traffic outside, and the entire neighbourhood seemed like it was covered in a blanket of peaceful silence. Not even Klavier's golden lab Vongole made a noise from the foot of his bed, fast asleep with Calico curled up and cuddling with the large fluff.

Every was quiet. Until a loud terrified scream broke through, and both animal's heads snapped up, looking up at the blonde and brunette that were curled up at the head of the bed.

Apollo's eyes snapped open as he heard an all too familiar scream. The reaction for him was almost automatic. The defense attorney turned, and wrapped his arms around the blonde beside him, holding tight. It was routine now. He didn't speak, just let Klavier cling, let him babble on and shush him, frowning. Most of his words were unintelligible anyways.

Over a year of these... Terrible, terrible nightmares. He'd grown used to them. Around 2:50am, Klavier would wake up screaming, or he'd be sobbing and talking in his sleep, waking Apollo up. Those were the easy ones. He'd just murmur and pull Klavier against him, run his fingers through blonde locks, and Klavier would fall into an easy sleep (Or he would pass out from exhaustion. Apollo could never tell which) and that was a good night.

But his screaming... It was one of the bad ones. Apollo never dared ask- Klavier's fear-filled half-asleep gaze was more than enough. "Klavier, it's not real. I'm here. Not him." Apollo whispered as he hugged Klavier against him. "Take a deep breath. We're fine..." He repeated it, listening to his boyfriends breathing and rubbing his back with one hand, the other tangling in the messy curls of blonde hair.

"... J-Ja... Ja. Fi-Fine." Klavier repeated, hiccuping, his sobs slowly dying off as he relaxed into Apollo's chest. "... Shatzi...?" He whispered after a few minutes, pullng back.

"... Yeah?" Apollo shifted, laying on his back and hugging Klavier, petting his hair and kissing the top of his head as the blonde put his head on his chest, relaxing into the smaller male with a small yawn. He fell silent for a moment, and Apollo thought he had honestly fallen asleep before he spoke again

"Danke." Klavier mumbled quietly, tilting his head to look at Apollo, his blue eyes heavy with sleep now. "I... I don't know what I'd do. Without you here." He admitted tiredly, and Apollo fell silent as Klavier closed his eyes, falling into an easy sleep this time. He had a few good ideas what Klavier might have done. And he hated every one of them that came to his head.

He ran a hand through Klavier hair, smiling a little as he thought about how lucky he was to be with such a beautiful and caring man.

Klavier had been the one to approach Apollo and talked him into one date. That had turned into two dates- three- and then a steady relationship for the two. It had definitely been hard at first. They had both had to deal with their bosses reminding them for weeks that they couldn't let their jobs and their realtionship get mixed up. But they had made it work.

Klavier had opened up, more than Apollo had expected. He had told Apollo a lot. About his trips with the Gavinners, about his family. Apollo frowned as Klavier mumbled and shifted a little in his sleep, smiling a bit. His family... It couldn't be Him, that was causing the blonde to have nightmares, could it? Apollo had had his hunches but-

Apollo shook his head, smiling as Vongole crawled up the bed and nudged his hand for attention.

He had a visit to make in the morning, he decided. Mr. Wright would understand if he was late to the office this one day. He hugged Klavier a little more and pat Vongole on the head before falling back asleep.
